That night, close scrounged the house for spare change, cash, any anything worth value.
She came up with a total of $58.04. She then asked her if she could borrow $42. Her mom asked her why she needed such a specific amount, and she replied it was for the sports fee at school. Her mom, not questioning the answer gave her $42 dollars (in cash luckily).
Chloe quickly checked the clock-6:47-then ran outside to hide it in the shrub. Then she ran back inside, and let it be.
*THE NEXT DAY*
When Chloe arrived home the next day-after her detention-she ran inside and checked the time-5:00. Only an hour and a half, left to go before she gets her surprise.
In the meantime, she decided to invite a couple of neighborhood friends over for a few rounds of hide and seek.
After 6 rounds of hide and seek, Chloe went inside to check the time-6:40. When she came back outside, she declared they would have time for one more round of hide and seek, then she would have to go inside and, "eat dinner".
After they finished their final rounds, and Chloe's friends had gone home, Chloe ran inside and checked the clock-6:46. She told her mom she was going for a walk. After that she kissed her mom and dad goodbye, and they all exchanged "I love you's "
After Chloe left, she was never seen again for a long, long time.
