Back at home, Jennifer and Kathleen were both still going crazy with worry. They didn't know if it was the same abductor for both girls, they still had yet to find a SINGLE clue on Alexa's or Chloe's case.
After the relay, they had made enough money to hire a private investigator-one that will go deeper into the case, and look harder to find evidence.
After it was all set up, and the investigator was booked, they waited, and waited, and waited. After 2 weeks with no luck, they were starting to lose hope until one day...
It was November 1st. A day after one of Chloe's favorite holidays.
The investigator thought he had an idea. He started asking questions about the last time the parents had seen their daughters, where they had seen them, etc. Both of them said that their daughters had said they were going on a walk, and then never returned. But neither parents had seen them walk down their driveways. This only meant one thing-the girls had been kidnapped in the yards.
"But how? It couldn't have been in plain sight..." Said Jennifer and Kathleen in unison.
"Doesn't matter let's go!" Said John the investigator.
Frantic, and strangely filled with hope, they all rushed outside. They drove to Kathleen's house first and started looking for anything-blood stains, clumps of hair. Maying that could be tracked by DNA.
Then Jennifer found it-inside the bush where Chloe was kidnapped was a blood stain.
Kathleen nearly jumped out of her skin at the sight. She was so excited, that she tried to grab the whole bush to bring to the police station for DNA testing.
That was when things took a turn for the worst.
