Stan Twice y'all

Disposing of the body was hard. Yi knew that she couldn't leave the bloodstains and fragments of his head on the ground. She spent all night cleaning the pavement and threw the man's body by a trash can. She hoped no one saw. If they did well, she didn't want to think about what would happen.

Guilt constantly ate her up. Even though he was a horrible person he was killed so brutally. Yi looked at herself in the mirror. She looked terrible, she had dark circles underneath her eyes and her skin looked paler. She looked like she just came back from the dead. It took all night to get the blood out of her clothes and to dig out every last piece of his head from her fingernails.

Even when she finished and tried to sleep the memory of bashing his head kept replaying in her mind. What scared her the most was how much she liked it. When she was doing it, she felt like the most powerful person in the world. She couldn't stop herself. She wanted, no, needed, to kill him. Her bloodlust wouldn't be satisfied until he was dead.

If only she didn't have a conscience. In the moment everything was well but the pit in her stomach that formed after prevented her from functioning properly. And now she had to go to work and take care of many patients. There was no way she could call in sick or take a day off.

Yi walked into the hospital stumbling. There was no talk about a body being found in the area so she assumed that no one had found him yet. As usual, she gathered information from the nurses on the night shift and found that one of her patients was missing. If possible, her heart sank even lower.

"Mr. Hansen went to the bathroom last night and he never came back. We've searched everywhere for him but he's gone!" the night nurse said.

"M-Mr. Hansen?"

Yi looked back, it was dark last night. She couldn't see her attacker's face. It was most likely not Mr. Hansen but there was no way she could know for sure. He couldn't have been him. There was no way. Mr. Hansen was too weak to fight, but was that why she killed him so easily? Because he was injured?

"Ah Ying!" a voice called. Yi turned around and her heart dropped even more, Mrs. Hansen. "We're here to see Edward." Mrs. Hansen put her hands on her son's shoulders. The son who wanted to be a warrior candidate.

"Oh...There's a slight problem..." Yi turned around to find the night nurse gone. Thanks a lot Becky. She said to herself. "Mrs. Hansen, if we could talk in private, just the two of us?"

A worried look came upon Mrs. Hansen's face, "Oh no, did something happen to Edward?"

The two women walked to a more private area, "Edward went missing last night." Yi said bluntly.

"What? How could he go missing? He's been in bed for days! How did it happen?!" Mrs. Hansen started to cry.

Yi didn't know how to answer her questions, she wasn't there. If only the damn night nurse had stayed for a few extra minutes. "I don't-I don't know." She prayed that the man last night wasn't Edward Hansen. Loud bustling came from the hall and the two women walked over to investigate it. To her horror, a man with half a skull was pulled in on a stretcher.

"Clear a table, he's still alive!" a doctor ordered.

Yi's mouth dropped open, how was he still alive? Half of his head was missing yet he was still breathing. She was sure that she killed him. A part of her was relieved. She didn't kill him. That was one less murder on her mind. But another part was panicking. He could identify her and she'd be put in jail for the rest of her life. But there was no chance that he would survive. Either way, she was still a murderer.

Mrs. Hansen cried out and collapsed to the ground, "Th-tha-that's him. Edward."

How could she identify him? "How do you know?"

"That's his ring. Our wedding ring." She lifted her finger to show Yi the matching bands. Yi did her best to soothe the old woman who was violently sobbing. "Who did this to him? Who would do such a brutal act?!"

Yi was silent. She couldn't answer. It was bad enough that her own conscience was eating at her but now with seeing the reaction of his wife, a kind old woman who deserved more than she had, in agony, Yi couldn't function.

Mrs. Hansen's son came over to cry with his mother as they both knew that Mr. Hansen was already gone.

The police came to investigate the site where his body was found. They took samples and concluded that he was dragged there. Mr. Hansen was basically dead but Mrs. Hansen begged the doctors to keep working on him. She was holding onto a false hope that her husband would survive.

The police interviewed nearby tenants if they saw anything to which they all denied. They then interviewed all of the patients to find if they saw anything which gave the same results. They most likely could find Yi but the police just didn't seem to care. He was an Eldian, they didn't waste their time with Eldians.

Once they left Yi knew what she had to do. There was no way Edward was going to survive and letting him live was such a cruel punishment. She knew that she had to grant him a quick death. So she took the opportunity.

Once Mrs. Hansen and her son were out of the private room, Yi entered with a syringe in her hand. "I'm sorry for doing this to you." she whispered as she injected it into his arm. Within a few moments, Edward Hansen was officially dead.

His wife quickly came into the room and immediately broke down crying. Yi looked over at their son to see him struggling to hold in his tears. She patted his shoulder comfortingly and the tears started to fall down his face. "It will be okay. It will all be okay." a wicked smile crossed her face.

新年快乐 and Chúc mừng năm mới! Happy Lunar New Year to everyone who celebrates! I saw my grandparents for the first time in several months today and I was really about to cry. Good thing iIwore a mask so that no one (hopefully) saw me holding back tears! I'm so thankful to be able to see my family this year even if it was a little different. We are now in the year of the ox and I hope that this year will be good to me and my family as well as yours! Do you have any plans for this new year?

Let me know what you think of this chapter. Tbh, I just wrote this because I wanted the Twice reference. But as always, constructive criticism is always appreciated.

Did you read chapter 137 yet? If so, leave your thoughts about it (spoiler free or put a warning). March can't come fast enough!

Also I haven't figured out a schedule for updates yet so for now I'm just gonna update randomly but I think I'm gonna do once or twice a week.
