XXI - I Love You

Yi and Eren spent the rest of the night together eventually moving from the office to his temporary bedroom. He held her tightly and she rested her head against his chest, listening to every heartbeat, syncing hers with his. It was a calming thumping that lulled her to sleep easily. She felt safe in her mass murderer's arms.

It wasn't too late for them to run away. Leave everything behind and start a new life. But the world was small and they had already started a war that had to be finished. Guilt gnawed at her once more. Yi imagined all of the people Eren killed watching over her, furious as she acted like there was nothing wrong with him.

When she woke up Eren was gone. His side of the bed was cold but the curtains were left closed. Yi got up and opened them, squinting her eyes at the sun. Someone knocked on the door and she opened it. A female soldier walked in with a change of clothes.

"Where's Eren?" Yi asked.

"Out. He's taking care of some business." the woman responded and left.

Yi sighed. Now what? She literally had nothing to do. Nothing to occupy her time while she waited for Eren to come back. Once he came back she needed to tell him that he needed to take her to the port to meet Lady Kiyomi.

The whole day passed with Yi staying in the room. It wasn't until late at night did Eren come back to the room. He looked exhausted and in the worst mood ever. His under eyes were dark despite having one of the best sleeps ever since his childhood. He walked slowly into the room and sighed loudly.

"Eren, I need you to take me to the port." Yi said.

He just grumbled and took off his shirt. Yi looked away quickly, "You've seen it before."

Yi still looked away, "I need to meet Lady Kiyomi, we're going to find out what happened to my parents."

Eren put on another shirt, "You don't need to. I will tell you everything you need to know."

"What? How do you know about my family?"

Eren sat down in front of her, "The Attack Titan passes down memories to each of its inheritors. My father, Grisha Jaeger, met your mother when she was sent here as a titan. He helped her escape and get back to Marley."

"But why was she sent here?"

"The same reason my father was. She was an Eldian restorationist, only she was caught much later after Grisha, after she had you."

"And she became a shifter after eating another shifter?"

Eren nodded his head, "The armored titan."

"And when she went back to Marley they found her. And fed her to Reiner."

Eren nodded once more. "You are half Eldian half Marleyan. You can reclaim your throne as the Empress of Qin and avenge your mother."

Yi perked her head up, "Avenge my mother?"

Eren nodded, "Don't you want those who killed your mother to suffer? That's what I will do. Make Marley pay for their crimes against humanity."

"Eren, are you even hearing yourself? You've already killed them!"

"No I haven't. There are still too many out there!" he argued.

"So you won't stop until every single one is dead?"

"That's right." he said.

Yi scoffed, "If you're only going to use me for genocide then I want nothing to do with you."

Eren laughed, "I don't need you to carry out my plan. I just want you on my side."

"And why is that?"

"Gosh Yi are you that dumb?" he said. Yi perked her eyebrow up. "You really can't pick up any clues huh? It's because I-" he suddenly stopped. As if it pained him to say the next words.

"You what?" She knew what he was going to say but didn't know if she wanted to hear it. If he confessed to her then she knew she would grow even more attached. And that was the last thing she wanted.

"You know what I'm about to say don't you?"

"Then say it."

"It's because I love you."

Late update and shitty chapter but next one is really good I think. Gonna put smut lol do you guys want smut?
I also kinda really hate Yi i think she's kinda annoying what do you guys think?
