thirty-seven: night changes

Nathan's Pov

We finally sit at the table that I reserved right after Hero asked me to have the house just for them just for few hours.

Katherine is dressed so elegant tonight.
I really can't take my eyes off her face.
Her hair are collected on the back of her neck una a low and chic bun letting her beautiful features uncovered.
Her cheeks and lips are painted by a beautiful pink, her eyelashes covered by a thin layer of mascara that makes them look even more longer.

"This place is... absolutely stunning and the view? Jeez I've seen so many places but this feels a little more special." she says so euphoric look around.
"I know I came here at least once a month. The most of the time se I came here alone before I got to know Jo." I tell her.
She rises her eyebrows.
"You came here and had dinner just by yourself?" she asks with a veil of sadness on her eyes.
I nod.

"Yeah because I think that sometimes you have to enjoy yourself and taking care of yourself by going to your favorite restaurant, buying something that you like..." I tell her and I find her staring at me with a light smile on her lips.
"That's why I told you that I really admire you as a person. Not just because you are the shoulder where I can cry of or the person that knows how to stay next to me when I need it, but because you do these things that I don't know to do..." she says staring at my eyes with her blue ocean eyes.
" I love the fact that you meditate, go on dates just by yourself because I can't do that, not because my fame but because I just can't do it, I will feel so ridiculous by doing that and maybe that's why I still single." she tells me.
I can see her eyes change mood.
"Don't say that Kath." I tell her placing my hand on hers and caressing her knuckles.

"Hello, sir, madam, are you ready to order?" the blonde waiter asks us.
"Ehm, we aren't." I tell him.
"No problem take your time." he says with a smile and then he leaves.

Kath let slide my hand out of my touch and she takes the menu.
"Kath you are an amazing person and it's not true that you're single because of that but because you don't open your eyes." I tell her making her stop and look up at me.
"You say about your sister but you do the same as her. You don't know how many people looks at you when you are walking on the street and before you say it: no, they don't look at you just because you're an actress but because you have your beauty." I tell her.
"Stop it." she says shaking her head and taking her eyes off mine. She's embarrassed but she shouldn't.
"No I'm not stopping and if is necessary I'll be repeating it over and over again. Your face is so angelic your body it's insanely gorgeous and your personality it's so rare to find. So stop saying that. Don't underestimate yourself Katherine." I tell her.
She finally looks at me smiles and then leans forward and her soft hand reaches my left cheek.

I have to control myself to not close my eyes but I let my head go and I let it lean on her hand.

"Thank you." she whispers.
I smile to her.
"Let's see what we can eat..." she says interrupting our little moment and taking the menu.
I don't even need to read it because I know so well the menu.

I see her eyes place on the menu and then go wide.
I know her so well that I was expecting that reaction from her.
"Are you fucking nuts?" she whispers leaning forward to be close to me.
I giggle while she is really in shock from the prices write on the menu.
"Don't worry about that." I tell her smiling.
"I'm not letting you pay." she says scrolling the pages.
"What? You promised that!" I tell her.
"I take it back." she says keep looking at the menu.

I smile seeing her like that.
"I'm not letting you pay." I say with a smirk.
"Alright so we can leave." she says closing the menu and standing up but then I grab her wrist.
"Kath sit. Please." I tell her.
"Are you letting me pay?" she asks.
I roll my eyes and I tell her "yes."
knowing that I'll not letting her pay at the end.
