Chapter 24

No one's pov:

After telling the raven about his dream, Tanjirou felt like his body had gotten lighter. It was as if a huge rock was removed from his body, and he felt a lot better. However, it wasn't enough for his paranoia and guilt to go away permanently for reasons he didn't know. Tanjirou would still flinch away when someone touched him without warning and he would turn around when he heard footsteps even when there weren't any.

"So what are you going to do today Tanjirou?" Muzan asked through the phone.

It was 8 in the morning, Tanjirou was getting ready to start the day. The bags under his eyes were nowhere to be seen, thanks to the alpha. He's had a goodnight's sleep ever since he talked with the raven. His nightmare also doesn't haunt him as often as before, which he is happy about.

"I have school today and then I'm going to the cafe," The Omega answered with a smile.

Tanjirou was buttoning his school uniform while standing in front of a
body-length mirror. He fixes his collar a bit before he was satisfied.

"Ah yes, I forgot today is Friday," Muzan said.

On the other side of the phone, Muzan also stood in front of a
body-length mirror while tying his tie. He tied the knot and tightened it, the tie sitting nicely between his collar. Muzan took his white fedora from a nearby table and placed it on his head, adjusting it slightly before he smirked at his reflection. The sound of Tanjirou giggling could be heard soon after, the alpha couldn't help but smile. He imagined how his omega looked at the moment, wearing a school uniform with that big and warm smile of his. Ah... he missed him.

Tanjirou was on the other end and still getting ready for school. He was packing his bag with a textbook and some notebooks he would need today. Once he was done, he grabbed his phone that was on his desk and put it to his ear.

"I'm gonna get going Muzan-san! Otherwise, I'm gonna be late," The omega said while swinging his bag over his shoulder and stepping out of his bedroom. He made his way towards the living room where his mother was watching some show.

"Ok Tanjirou, I'll see you soon," The alpha replied before the call ended.

Tanjirou froze in his spot with the alpha's words replaying like a broken record in his head. See him soon?

A blush crept its way onto his cheeks and his smile widened. Is the raven going to meet him at the café? If that's true... then he can't wait! With a happy giggle, he stepped into the living room.

"Ah, Tanjirou. Good morning, don't forget to take your bento with you," his mother greets him with a smile and stands up from the sofa.

Tanjirou took the bento from the table and turned to his mother and hugged her, his mother hugging back. Suddenly, a flash of blond crossed his eyes and he stilled in his mother's hold. His eyes widened and he tightened his hold on his mother.

For some reason...... his heart started to beat faster. He had a feeling something was gonna happen today. Something bad.

The school day ended as the bell rang, the hall filling with students leaving the classroom. Tanjirou was happily packing up his stuff, the thought of a certain raven made him pack up even quicker. He was glad he didn't have clean-up duty today. Once he finished packing, he said goodbye to both of his best friends and dashed out of the classroom. Kibutsuji Muzan was completely clouding his mind that he even forgot, or rather, he pushed away that bad feeling he had all day.

He walked out of the school building, seeing many students walking out of the gate, some were with friends, others were alone. Tanjirou was one of the people walking alone.

He fixed his hold on his bag before he ran towards the school gate. Just as Tanjirou is about to step out the gate and off school property, he freezes. His heart started to speed up as sweat slid down from his forehead. Why was he so scared all of a sudden? Just a second ago he was happy while thinking of a certain raven, but now... he feels scared. Extremely scared. His body temperature dropped and he was trembling. He felt his throat closing up and making it hard for him to inhale oxygen.

"Tanjirou?" A random student asked when they noticed Tanjirou in front of the school gate looking pale.

"Are you ok?"

Without any warning, Tanjirou fell to the ground, causing everyone around him to panic. Tanjirou went unconscious and the last thing he saw was... blond. They were smiling oh so sweetly at him.
