"Alright, let's put your combat theory to the test,"

"Professor? I thought we were starting practical in term 2?" a boy squeaks.

"Yeah, but I got bored and decided to start now, a little last day test before the real thing," The racoon made everyone follow to a simulation room in the testing part of the campus. "Alright, get ya weapon of choice and into a stance,"

Your palms sweated as you watched everyone take a weapon easily. Spending too long at the table, Professor Rocket claps his hands for you to hurry up making you take two daggers. The sharp blade pointed, handle a sleek maroon engraved with hearts. Base of the metal was a hole in the shape of a heart, cool!

"Alright, that's your weapon for the rest of your time here, talk to me about switching but once you choose this weapon it is your main one, got it?" Rocket grins as everyone nods.

"How was class? Heard Prof Rocket got his class right into combat as a tester before next term," Peter smiled sympathetically.

"It was an utter disaster!" taking out your blades Peter jumps back and raises his fists. "Calm down, these are just the weapons I chose and now I'm stuck with them!"

"It's not that bad," he shrugs. "It's cool, has a certain flare,"

"Oh, better yet, he persisted for me to get hero name by the end of the holidays before we start prac!" dropping to the ground knees then face, Peter bends down and pats your head.

"Brainstorm, N/n, you'll get there,"

"Thanks, Parker," just before he left you took the hem of his jeans. "Wait," standing up you shove him into your room.

"Uh, what are you doing?"

"I need you to answer a question,"

For the past few weeks you spotted Peter leaving the dorms. Not for classes, and no one knew where he was going. You started to speculate him going on Tinder dates but then you came across some videos online of Spider-man.

You thought nothing of it at first, having seen videos of the hero swinging about across the web. (hehe puns)

Then the time stamps of the sightings started to match up with Peter's absence. To further this working theory you spotted goggle marks around his eyes which of course were weird considering he didn't swim.

Then was the red thread on his clothing which was of the same colour of the arachnid hero.

Peter didn't have a hero name... nor any powers... unless he did and just didn't want to reveal it.

"What is it?" he leans against your desk with a fluster.

"Are you Spider-man?"

"How did you know?!-" He caught his tongue and narrowed his eyes. "Damn you,"

"I really am a genius," you sigh and fall back on your bed.

"Please don't tell anyone!" He falls on his knees and scoots to your feet.

"Of course not, I just wanted to know if I was right," pushing him onto the ground with your foot he scowls and scrambles up. "But, you have to help me learn how to fight,"

"Ask Nat or something, remember I'm Peter Parker, not Spider-man,"

"Boo!" You shuffle to the door and push him out. "Natasha!~"

"We start tomorrow," She walks making you both jump.

"How much did you hear?"

"Nothing I didn't already know!~" She laughs and closes her bedroom door.

~~~
"Ok, get into your fighting stance," First day on the holiday and you were still working. Training, in fact. When you did as told, Nat groans and adjusts your position until it was perfect. "Better,"
"Ok, Miss perfect," she knocked you off your feet making you hit the ground hard. "Ow!"
"First rule, always be prepared,"
These next few days would be grueling and tiresome but you needed to get better. Bruises after bruises formed along your skin to the point where it concerned everyone. Shrugging it off multiple times with the help of Nat they soon dismissed it.
Often, you passed the hall flipping your daggers trying to get used to the weapon. Using Hades' board as target practice, he helped along with getting your knife skills up to date. He also said it as thanks for setting him up with Pietro.
Perfect couple in all honesty, a secret one but perfect nonetheless.
Your hand was blistered, covered in cuts at the end of the week but you pushed forward. Other than the refusal of failing, the sight of Loki and Aphrodite made your blood boil. Training was a coping strategy.
Because guess what? You realised why your heart ached, why your mind clouded with hate more so than before. You liked Loki a lot and him with that preppy goddess was sickening.
So focus on training was what you did.
Christmas was nearing and you had gotten everyone a gift. Hopefully they'd like it?
