Luke stayed with me for the next two days after that. We've become a real serious thing. We've gone out with Ashton and Rosalie once more. Our relationship has been strong and consistent. Today I'm sitting on my couch watching some cooking show when my doorbell rings.
I open the door to find Luke standing there. No shock. What he asks me is something different however.
"Look Scarlett. I know we haven't been dating too long but my family is throwing this party tonight. My brothers are home for the weekend and so are their families. I figured I could bring you and you could meet everyone. So what do you say?"
There's a long moment of silence as I think.
"I don't know Luke. What if they hate me?" I look down at my lap and he lifts my chin up to make eye contact.
"Don't say that. They'll love you." He pecks my nose and I smile shyly.
"Alright. When is it and what do I have to wear?"
"Tomorrow at 6:30 I'll pick you up. It's kind of formal. A lot of family friends will be there also and there will be a large dinner and it's in a hotel ballroom. Just wear whatever you feel is right. I have to go but I'll see you tomorrow."
Just like that I'm left pondering over this party. I don't know how I'll ever fit in. But for Luke, I have to try.
*next day*
Around noon I still haven't picked out an outfit. Realizing I'm hopeless on my own, I call the only person I can think of for help.
"Hey, Rosalie? Hi sorry I was just wondering if you could swing by. I need some help."
"Of course babe! Be right there!"
Just as promised my bell rings in 10 minutes and I gladly let her inside.
"Thanks so much! I need fashion advice. I'm going to this party with Luke tonight and I have to impress his family."
"Alright let me have a look into your wardrobe." She walks to my closet and sorts through all my belongings while humming softly to herself.
After what felt like an hour of her searching she came back to me with a new gown I bought. It's lilac and has a lace corset. From the waist down it is more princess-like and has a mini train in the back.
"This. Put it on now." She leaves my room and I change without any argument.
And then I look in the mirror, and my breath is taken away.
This is a completely new me. And I love it all.
