Stay Away, I Love You

After I finish sobbing in Luke's arms for a few minutes I push him back off of me.

"No." I shake my head rapidly.

"Scarlet what is it now?" He asks. He tries to pull me in again but I take an even larger step back.

"No, no, NO!" I shout with my hands clamped over my ears, completely aware of how insane I look and the makeup running down my face.

"Scarlet please! I love you! I know it seems creepy and insane considering that I've only known you for a short amount of time but I can't deny the fact that I am in love with you and I know that I can help you get better from whatever is tormenting you." Slowly I remove my hands from my ears and look up at him. "And I know this must be incredibily hard for you but if you would just open up to me a little bit. Cut the crap with your whole tough girl act because I know you're dying inside and have been trying to hide that for so long. But I promise you Scarlet that if you let me into your life I won't ever let go, and I won't ever give you a reason to hide your true colors again."

He finally finishes and I am left standing there speechless. As much as I want to just fall into his arms once more I can't.

 "This isn't right Luke, leave me alone. I'm just not okay and you deserve someone better."

"I don't care Scarlett. I'm not going anywhere." 

That was when I knew I had to tell him everything. Even if he broke the promise that just lured me in.
