The car suddenly halts and I look up from my phone. This entire car ride has been awkward, we talked for about 5 minutes and then just listened to the radio. Now that we've parked, I see we're at a beach. Yay.

"Right this way ma lady." He says, bowing like some King or something. I roll my eyes and follow him down the boardwalk to a picnic blanket on the sand.

"You've got to be kidding me Lucas."

"What? Who doesn't love a good picnic?" He chuckles and plops down on the blanket.

"Me." I sit down carefully and watch his blue eyes as they scan the inside of the basket. His hands dig in to pull out tupperware containers of strawberries, cheese and crackers, french bread, ham and turkey slices and some blueberries.

"Alright help yourself."

Disgusted with his basic options, I settle with some strawberries and bread. Then I pull my flask out of my purse. I had to bring it because we both know Luke will drive me crazy tonight.

As I tilt my head back to gulp down some liquid, Luke's eyebrows raise.

"You drink." It comes out more like a statement rather than a question. I guess he's finally understanding more about me.

"When it's necessary, so yes I drink Luke." He quiets down and focuses back on his snack.

"Alright 20 questions time." He says not even a minute later. I throw my head back and groan. Could this date get any worse?

"Favorite color?"

"Red."

"Why do you drink?"

"Because."

"Why though?"

"Luke I'm not telling you my personal life on the first date. Nope, it isn't happening. Ever." He frowns but goes along with it.

"Favorite book?"

"I don't read."

"Why do you hate me?"

"I don't hate you, I just don't like you, that's all." I shrug and immediately notice a frown across his face. So I quickly add, "But don't worry, I don't like anyone. It's not just you."

Why am I trying to cheer him up? I don't like Luke.

A couple hours later I'm being dropped off at home.

"I had a nice night Scarlett. Did you?"

After staring at him for a few seconds to examine his true feelings, I snap out of it.

"You're such a cheese ball Luke Hemmings. A picnic date, 20 questions, I had a nice night, and all the other shit. Whatever, bye Luke." I abruptly leave the guy sitting there in his car and smirk as he drives away in silence.

Thank God that's over.

A/N- yay an update! Really hope you like it....sooo I'm really tired but I'll try to update again tomorrow! Love ya lots!!!
