(Edited)Alexa and I savored our breakfast, lost in conversation. The kitchen door swung open, and we turned to greet the newcomer.
Colton, my brother, flashed a warm smile. "Good morning, princess," he said, addressing me.
"Good morning, bro," Alexa added, her voice playful.
Colton chuckled. "Good morning, Little Devil."
Alexa smirked, enjoying the teasing.
Colton approached us, dropping a gentle peck on our heads.
"Finish breakfast, we're heading out," he announced.
We nodded, curiosity piqued.
It had only been three days since I joined my brothers, and I still felt a little uneasy. But with time, I'd grow comfortable.
Post-breakfast, we converged in the living room. Colton and Alex waited, relaxed on the couch.
Our destination remained a mystery.
To the garage we headed, where a stunning sports car awaited.
Black and red, sleek and powerful.
Colton took the driver's seat, Alex beside him.
Alexa and I settled in the backseat.
"Where are we going?" Alexa asked, leaning forward.
Colton grinned. "It's a surprise."
Alexa's eyes sparkled. "I love surprises."
Colton chuckled. "You'll enjoy this."
The engine roared to life.
"let's play 20 questions" Alex suggested
"so what's your favorite color?" Alex asked us
"Black and red" alexa replied
"Uhm I don't know. Maybe purple?" I replied and they chuckled
"Ohk my turn , favorite food?" Colton asked
"I can't choose one give me anything and I'll eat" alexa said
"Uhm pizza" I replied
"that's Lorenzo's favourite to" Colton said
"my turn , a country you want to visit?" Alexa asked
"Italy" Alex stated
"Greece" Colton said
"South Korea" I said
"beach or mountains?" I asked
"beach" Alexa and Alex replied together and we chuckled
"mountains" Colton replied
And the game continued and we soon reached our destination. We were at The mall.
"Why are we here?" Alexa asked, curiosity sparkling in her eyes.
"Well, to buy you guys stuff," Colton replied with a grin.
"We already did that yesterday," I reminded him.
"Yes, but that wasn't enough," Alex chimed in. "You'll be starting school soon, and we need to get everything."
"Come on, let's go inside," Colton urged, gently tugging my wrist.
The four of us entered the mall, splitting into pairs.
Colton accompanied me, while Alex strolled alongside Alexa.
Their effortless camaraderie warmed my heart.
Since arriving, I've noticed Alex and Alexa's natural bond.
As if they'd known each other forever.
Colton guided me through stores, selecting essentials and treats.
Despite my protests, he insisted on buying more.
"Do you need anything else?" he asked, concern etched on his face.
"No," I reassured him. "I've got everything."
"Let's meet Alex and Alexa at the car," Colton suggested.
We rejoined them, and the car quickly filled with bags.
The ride home was quiet.
Alexa listened to music, lost in her world.
Alex texted someone, his expression thoughtful.
Colton focused on driving.
I drifted off to sleep, exhaustion taking over.
Alex's gentle voice roused me.
"Hey, it's okay, I've got you. Back to sleep."
I nestled into his arms, feeling secure.
My eyelids closed, surrendering to slumber. The world faded away.
Alex Romano
We arrived home, and Alexa and Colton bustled inside with shopping bags.
I turned to Alesa, finding her fast asleep. Gently, I scooped her up in bridal style, cradling her close.
Midway, she stirred, "Hey, it's okay, I've got you. Back to sleep," I soothed. She relaxed, trusting me completely. In her room, I laid her on the bed, tucking her in with care.
A tender kiss on her temple, "Sleep well, bambina. I missed you." Though she couldn't hear, my heart poured out.
Next, I visited Alexa's room.
She slept peacefully, a serene smile on her face. I covered her with blankets, bestowing a gentle kiss.
"We're happy to have you here, Little Devil. I missed you."
Switching off the lights, I left.
Reuniting with the twins brought unbridled joy. Years of separation weighed heavily.
Especially with Alexa, my bond was unbreakable, Childhood memories flooded back.
Alesa, Lorenzo's princess, captured his heart. He'd braid her hair, and she'd proudly show Alexa.
Alexa would rush to me, begging for braids. My clumsy attempts ended in laughter.
Their teasing was laced with love.
Inseparable, yet fate tore them apart.
Learning Alexa's feelings toward Alesa saddened us But forgiveness and maturity reconciled them.
My heart still aches from their absence. Now, with them home, love and laughter filled our lives.
