Alesa Romano

(Edited)Five minutes passed before a knock on the door broke the silence.
Lorenzo said, "Come in."
Noah walked in with Alexa.
"Hello, brothers and Alesa," Alexa said, her voice cheerful.
We replied in unison, "Hello."
Dylan asked, "How was school?"
Alexa dramatized, "It was big and bad as always. I survived. If you don't want to lose me, stop sending me there, or you'll all be at my funeral soon."
We burst into laughter.
Xander's expression turned stern, his eyes narrowing.
Alexa noticed. "Will you stop staring at me, Xander? I know I'm hot, but you don't have to," she said, smirking.
Xander groaned, "Keep your stupid smirk to yourself, Alexa."
Alexa pushed further "Or else what? Point a gun at me? Huh?"
Xander's eyes flashed with guilt. My forgotten fears resurfaced.
Dylan intervened. "Okay, guys, stop. Let's head home."
We nodded.
Noah, Alexa, and I left Lorenzo's office.
In the elevator, Alexa and Noah discussed Noah's upcoming football match.
I listened silently.
At the car, Noah drove, Alexa sat beside him, and I settled in the backseat.
As they continued their conversation, I resumed watching BTS videos.
We arrived home.
I headed to the living room while Noah and Alexa went to change.
Alone, I sat quietly.
My phone beeped, breaking the silence. An unknown number flashed on the screen.
My heart skipped a beat. Who could it be? I hesitated before opening the message.
Unknown:
HelloAlesa :
Hello, who's this?Unknown :
I'm SophiaAlesa:
Sophia?Unknown
Sophia from school. I got your number from Alexa.Alesa
Ohk, why did you text me tho? I Mean you can text me but any important reason?Sophia
Yes, actually I asked Alexa about you and she said that you are not well today. So I thought of sending you today's note and some important notes before you joined.Alesa
Thanks SophiaI rushed to my room to complete my notes, but then realized I left my phone downstairs. I gathered all my materials and headed back down to the living room. The room was still empty, so I settled on the floor, using the sofa for support, and began writing in my book.
Forty minutes passed before Xavier walked in. "What are you doing?" he asked.
"Uhm, just completing some important notes," I replied, not looking up.
"Do you want something to eat or drink?" he offered.
"No, thank you for asking," I said, still focused on my book.
Xavier left, and I continued working. That's when I noticed the math homework. I opened the book, but the problems seemed impossible. Maybe the teacher covered this when I was absent? I struggled, unsure what to do.
Should I ask Lorenzo again? He said I could ask him, but he's still working. Xavier might know, but he's leaving.
Just as I decided to ask Xavier, he reappeared. "Alesa, I'm going out. Alex is here," he said.
I nodded, realizing I had no choice but to ask Alex for help.
I made my way to his room, hearing shouting from inside. He was gaming.
I knocked hesitantly, but he didn't respond. I knocked again, still no answer. About to knock a third time, the door swung open, revealing an angry Alex.
"Why are you disturbing me?" he asked, irritation evident.
"I'm sorry to disturb you," I apologized. "I need help with my math homework. No one's home besides you."
Alex's expression softened. "Okay."
He followed me to the living room, examining my notes and math book. He explained the concepts, helping me solve the problems.
After checking my work, he explained the rest of the chapter, considering I'd missed school.
"Thank you for helping me," I said, smiling.
"You're welcome," Alex replied, smiling back.
But his expression suddenly turned cold, and he left the room.
I finished my homework as dinner time approached. My brothers returned home one by one, finding me still in the living room, surrounded by books and pens.
"I'll clean this up later," I thought, exhausted.
Lorenzo walked in, eyeing the messy table. "Dinner's ready."
I gathered my belongings, relieved to have finished my homework.
As we sat down to eat, Alex's demeanor remained distant, but I was grateful for his help earlier.
The evening passed, each of us lost in our thoughts. After dinner, I began clearing the table, feeling more organized.
