Alesa Romano

(Edited)Monday morning arrived, signaling the start of school. I sprang out of bed, eager to begin. A swift shower and morning routine later, I stood before my closet, choosing a stylish outfit.
After dressing, I enhanced my natural look with subtle makeup and lip gloss. My hair fell in soft waves down my back, framing my face. A final mirror check confirmed my satisfaction.
With confidence, I left the closet and entered my bedroom. I packed my bag, ensuring everything was in order. Shoes on, I checked the time – 7:30 am. School started at 8:00 am.
Bag and phone in hand, I rushed out of my room. My feet pounded the stairs, but my haste was halted abruptly. A sudden collision, and I found myself pinned against something unexpected.
Not a wall, but a person. Tall, imposing, and breathtakingly handsome, he stood before me. His muscular physique and chiseled features left me breathless. Deep, piercing eyes locked onto mine.
"Where are you running, little girl?" he asked, his voice low and commanding.
I wanted to say I lived here, but my voice was struck in my throat.
"Care to reply? What are you doing in my house?" he asked, his tone firm.
His house? How? My brothers and Alexa lived here, no one else.
"Fucking reply, what are you doing in my house?" he screamed, and I flinched. Tears welled up in my eyes, but I held them back.
"I-I li-v-e he-r-e," I stuttered.
"You live here, huh?" he asked, laughing. "Don't lie to me, kid. This is my house, and I wasn't here for 5 days, and you tell me that you live here?" He said pointing a gun at me
He screamed, and I flinched again. "What did you rob from my house?"
"I di-d-n't," I replied, tears rolling down my cheeks.
"Stop lying," he screamed, pointing a gun at my temple. I flinched, terrified.
"Please, I'm no-t ly-yi-ng," I sobbed.
"Stop lying!" he screamed again.
I cried loudly, and Lorenzo came running with my brothers.
"What's happening here?" Lorenzo asked.
"This girl broke into our house and now she's lying that she stays here," the boy replied.
"She's not lying, Xander," Dylan said.
The group approached me.
"Don't come near, he has a gun," I warned, scared for my brothers' lives.
Alex screamed, and they quickly moved to my side, seeing the gun.
"Xander, put the gun down," Lorenzo ordered.
"Put the gun down!" Lorenzo screamed.
Dylan took me into a hug, and I sobbed until I stabilized.
"This little girl broke into our house," Xander said.
"What's happening? Why are you crying, Alesa?" Alexa asked, arriving upstairs.
"Care to explain why my sister is crying?" Alexa demanded.
"Who's he?" Alexa asked Lorenzo.
"He's your third oldest brother, Xander," Alex replied.
"Sisters? You mean Alesa and Alexa?" Xander asked, shocked.
"Yes, I'm Alexa, and she's Alesa," Alexa said.
Guilt filled Xander's eyes.
"How many brothers do we have?" Alexa asked.
"You have 7 brothers in total, bambina," Lorenzo replied.
"7 brothers?" I asked.
"Yes, 7. Xander and Xavier are twins, 24 years old," Dylan said.
"Let's have breakfast or you'll be late for school," Dylan suggested.
We nodded, still shaken.
Everyone gathered downstairs, filling the table with lively conversations. I sat quietly, lost in thought, still shaken by Xander's confrontation. The gun's cold metal lingered in my memory.
Why did he point it at me? Did he truly intend to harm me?
Lorenzo's voice broke my reverie. "Time to go. I'll drop you off at school today."
We followed him to the car, Lorenzo occupying the passenger seat beside the driver. Alexa and I settled in the back.
The ride to school passed in silence. Lorenzo worked on his phone, while Alexa texted someone, her fingers flying across the screen.
As we arrived at school, students' faces reflected shock and fear. They whispered among themselves, eyes fixed on Lorenzo.
His intimidating aura commanded attention, but why did everyone seem so terrified?
We entered the principal's office, and even he looked apprehensive. Lorenzo's presence seemed to inspire fear.
After a brief conversation, the principal nodded, his eyes darting nervously toward us.
Lorenzo guided us to the reception desk. "Schedules for Alexa and Alesa Romano," he said.
The receptionist's hands trembled as she handed us our schedules.
Lorenzo led us to our lockers, explaining the combinations. "Remember, combination is your birthdate."
With a gentle kiss on our temples, he wished us luck. "Have a great day, bambine."
As Lorenzo departed, the atmosphere relaxed. Students continued to stare, their whispers growing louder.
Alexa leaned in. "Why does everyone seem so scared of Lorenzo?"
I shrugged. "No idea, but Xander's gun still has me shaken."
Alexa's expression turned serious. "We'll talk about it later."
We exchanged schedules, planning our day.
"Let's get through this first day," Alexa said, smiling. I nodded, taking a deep breath.
