Ryoko woke up with an intense headache. He went to touch his head but quickly realized his arms were restrained behind him. He opened his eyes to a brown room and people in front of him.
"Ahhh, look who's awake?" A voice behind him stated. All eyes were then focused on Ryoko's rigged sitting form.
People started to come from both sides of his peripherals and filled the space in front of him. A man in...are they wearing swimming clothes? So this must be the Beach.
Ryoko mentally thanked them for making his search end early.
"Welcome to the ideal utopia, The Beach! I am Hatter!" The man in front of Ryoko practically screamed.
Ryoko slowly nodded before replying, "Cool. Cool. Name's Araki Ryoko. Sooo, can you like untie me now?"
Hatter cackled. "They will be off soon, but first I must tell you the rules of the Beach."
"Rules?"
" Yes, of course. The first being always wear a bathing suit and the second is just to be free, to live your life exactly as you wish including alcohol, drugs and sex." Shittt, say less.
Hatter motioned for 2 guys to open the doors. Behind it was a chart of a deck of cards, most crossed out except for a few number and all face cards. They were collecting cards.
"We all have a common goal. Get out of Borderland. So we have a number system-Me being 1. The members of the beach all play the games to collect the cards and turn them over to me and the executives. You will do the same as well."
Ryoko cocked his head to the side mockingly, "And if I don't?"
Hatter's eyebrow ticked slightly, "Our third and final rule, death to all traitors." Well ok then.
"He looks new. Doubt he has many cards." This time it was the male with the piercings holding the sniper rifle. He's hot. His tongue dropped out his mouth displaying his tongue piercing as if in an attempt to intimidate him.
It did the exact opposite. It turned him on.
"I can assure you, darling. I've been here a while." Ryoko shot out staring the male in his eyes. Before Niragi could step up, Hatter interrupted him impatiently.
"Niragi, not now. The cards?"
Ryoko rolled his eyes then proceeded to bring his arms from behind his back over his head and in front of him. Rolling his shoulders and opening his jacket, he unzipped one of the inner pockets and grabbed the stack of cards. Ryoko then spread the cards in his hands as much as he could with them tied.
"I got a few, I guess." Ryoko's smirk was at full peak when the executives' faces dropped in disbelief. Hatter quickly scooped the cards from his hands and proceeded to count.
"37. HE HAS 37 CARDS!" Hatter looked like he was about to faint. "He has all the ones we needed except for the seven, nine, and ten of hearts."
Ryoko turned his head to look at Niragi, who was already looking at him. "Still think I'm new?" Niragi looked away and scoffed at the comment.
Hatter had someone untie Ryoko's hands and legs. "I will have to give you a higher number than originally planned. Aguni has told me you are good with guns. Wo-"
"Aguni?" Hatter then pointed to the bald male to his left. Ahh him. It was the same man he saved from the tiger. The two shared a silent nod. "And question. Why aren't they wearing swimsuits if it's in the 'rules'?"
"They are a part of the militants. They are the only ones to handle the weapons here. As for the clothes, they just don't listen so I don't bother. As I was saying, would you like to join them, the militants?"
Ryoko went over his options. One of the biggest pros, he could cover his scars without anyone questioning him.
"Sure I'm down."
"Perfect! Niragi, take him to one of the rooms and set him up." said male tossed Ryoko his bag.
The room had emptied rather quickly when Hatter came up to him with a wristband. 20.
Niragi and Ryoko headed out the door, but as soon as they got in the elevator, Ryoko's back was pressed against the wall. He had to resist the urge to shift to take pressure off his back. Not in pain, really more of uncomfortableness.
Niragi had his rifle at Ryoko's throat, "Who do you think you are trying to embarrass me back there?"
Ryoko gasped dramatically, "Me? Embarrass you? Awe, you poor thing." Niragi pushed the gun into his neck more making Ryoko look slightly upwards at him.
Ryoko chuckled, grabbing Nigari's waist and pulling him in, catching him off guard. He ripped Niragi's gun from his grasp and switched their positions. The air got knocked out of Niragi and left him dazed for a few seconds. When he came to, Ryoko's face was directly in front of him.
"And just so you know. I got one too, darling." Ryoko lazily revealed his tongue. A silver stud piercing. Niragi's eyes were immediately drawn to it, completely ignoring the name.
Ryoko squeezed Niragi's waist gently bringing him back. Ryoko positioned his face next to the other's ear, his breath tickling it a bit.
"Now what happens once we leave this elevator is up to you. Do you understand?"
Niragi shifted his legs slightly before nodding. He got another waist squeeze.
"Use your words, darling. Do you understand?"
Niragi's eyes widened at his tone of voice.
"Yes."
