Kuina and Chishiya were watching the residents death's through the security cameras.

"All of them are nuts." The girl spoke with her arms crossed in front of her.

"How unpleasant. Why would they go so far just to survive?" The male's nonchalant tone did well to hide his amusement.

"There's no way they'll find the witch like this!"

"The witch could be you, Kuina." The girl turned to the boy in reply.

"The same goes for you."

A look of amusement and acknowledgement was shared between the two before Chishiya scoffed softly and both turned back to the screens.

Kuina's eyes flew over the screens before focusing on one. Calling Chishiya over, she questions.

"Isn't that Ryoko? Is that Mira?"

Chishiya followed her line of vision before mentally cursing. Why did both of his lovers have to be homicidal idiots?

A dark chuckle resonated with the screams of those in the lower levels. Mira felt the chilling sound seep into her spine as she turned another corner.

Her body jumped slightly at the sounds of bullets passing her head.

"Oh, Mira darling. Why must you run?" Ryoko's voice seemed deeper than normal, as if his temper was slowly making its way forth. He shot again.

This time the bullet only lightly grazed her right shoulder. Her sharp intake of breath was matched by the male's sinister grin. He was playing with her.

He had forced her into a dead end, where he could easily kill her and leave her body to rot. But, that wasn't part of his plan. He wanted to terrify her. He wasn't going to kill her just yet. Let the anticipation and fear run through veins. Cloud her thinking. Let her make the mistakes.

"Ryoko, will you stop this? It wasn't my fault." Mira could feel the sweat beginning to collect near her hairline.

"We had a deal, Mira. I had one rule for that deal to work, didn't I?" The man shot the wall next to her head when she didn't respond.

"What was the one rule, Mira?" His voice sounded oddly calm and it put her more on edge than it should have.

"No harm comes to the one you care for." The answer was mumbled but still heard between the two.

"Exactly. That wasn't too hard of a rule now was it?" She shook her head frantically making her bangs sway.

She hadn't realized when he got so close until he was grabbing her chin in a bruisingly tight grip.

"So why the fuck did you break the rule? Hmm, since it was so easy of a rule, why is my brother dead?" The venom on his tongue made Mira want to flinch.

"Ryoko please! I don't have that type of control. I promise you." She was nearly in tears at this point. Seeing the intimidating male's dark eyes glaring into her soul, made her wish she wouldn't die that night.

"Your promises mean nothing to me anymore. So unless you can bring Ren back, you better hope you die tonight. Once tonight is over, you will wish you had never made that deal."

Ryoko decided he needed to let off some steam before smiling at the girl.

The girl looked up at him like a deer caught in headlights when his hand wrapped around her neck. She didn't have time to process anything before she was thrown into the wall behind and was rendered unconscious.

The man looked at the girl's limp body with a crooked smile.

He rolled his shoulders before making his way down the hall.

Let's see what my boys are up to.

Niragi was preparing to take a shot when he heard a voice behind him. A very annoying one at that.

"Aren't you sick of bullying the weak already?"

He rolled his eyes before turned his head slightly.

"Where were you hiding?"

Chisihiya, uncaring as ever, walked in his line of vision.

"There are a ton of places for me to hide."

Fully turning towards him, Niragi replied.

"You really get on my nerves. All the goddamn time."

"Bold for someone who's a clingy cuddler." Niragi was glad the air was cold enough to hide his flushed appearance.

"You always act as if you're so clever."

"But I am clever."

Niragi had enough of the man in front of him. He broke down the sniper rest and stood towards Chishiya.

"Let's put an end to this, shall we?"

Chishiya didn't move from his spot before speaking.

"The main power supply has changed since the game started."

"So?

"Our electricity used to be powered by generators. Now it comes from the hotel's main power source. This means that the ones in charge of the game snuck into the Beach to control the power in the basement."

Neither of them noticed the door that led to the door was occupied.

"What are you trying to say?"

"I'm talking about who the witch is, of course. What else do we need to care for?" Ummmm I don't know...how about your boyfriend having a homicidal breakdown downstairs? No? Okay carry on.

"You're insinuating that I'm the witch, right? Sorry, but that's not possible."

"Only the executives have information on the main power supply management. In the first place, only you guys have the key to access the underground. So I'll kill all executive members, starting with you."

Niragi felt the need to ask. "Even Ryoko?"

"Especially Ryoko. I may care for him, but I do not trust him one bit."

This only received him a disbelieving look. Sure, the two of them butted heads a lot, Niragi thought they both came to the conclusion that they would protect him.

Chishiya could see the rage bubbling in the taller's eyes.

The figure in the door scoffed lightly before descending the stairs.

"Just think about it, Ryoko had been in Borderland for a long time before we met. Probably longer than Hatter and Aguni. He is in some sketchy shit."

His hand felt heavy as he passed a bin. He let go of the stack of cards, hearing a decent thud as it hit the bottom.

"I know you have seen the chess piece tattooed on the back of his neck. Momoka had the same one, so did Asahi. Except theirs are pawns, while his was a king."

He lit the lighter Chishiya had given him and tossed it into the bin. He stood there for a second, so zoned in on the flames engulfing the cards, he hadn't noticed the falling body on fire outside the window.

"My bad for deciding to care for once."
