The next day, students could put their name in the goblet. Sirius an Regulus were told they had to (Sirius would've anyway) so Sirius knew why when he saw his brother deathly pale sitting a bit away from the goblet of fire. "Reg? Are you ok?" Sirius asked, knowig the answer,
"What if there's something in the lake!? You know I can't swim!" he replied
"Listen Reg, you don't have to enter if you don't want to."
"But mum said-"
Typical, thought Sirius, Regulus wanting to please his mother. "We won't tell her, we'll say you entered but weren't picked ok?" Regulus nodded and went back to the flying house to get something.
Sirius was of course still going to enter, he wrote down his name and school on the slip of paper and put it into the goblet. Remus had been watching people put their names in all morning and when he saw Sirius be kind enough to comfort his brother and brave enough to enter himself and be able to look good in anything from the floaty blue robes he had worn the day before to the leather jacket he was wearing now.
"REMUS!"
An annoying voice brought Remus out of his trance, "Hello James."
"At least act like you're happy to see me Remus, I said your name like five times, are you ok?" James said, Remus inwardly marveled at how oblivious he was even with glasses on "Is it that time soon?"
Well done James you pay attention in astronomy would you like a sticker?
"Yep," Remus replied "Merlin I hate the moo-"
"Sirius!" James quickly saved Remus from lots of awkward questions "Are you entering?"
"Yep," Sirius replied "Are you ok? Did I interupt something? You've gone a little red."
Remus had gone red, partly because of the fact he almost gave himself away but mostly because of the sudden appearance of an angel (his words not mine... kinda).
"I'm good." Remus smiled but he didn't think Sirius would stick around if he found out what Remus was (that's why he's not a Ravenclaw). There was an awkward silence before James said "So how do you enter?"
"You um, write your full name and school on a piece of paper then just put it in the goblet." Sirius replied not looking away from Remus, to someone who was looking at them you'd think they were trying to communicate through their minds... which was definately not what was happening at Sirius' end, he was most certainly not thinking are you gay? repeatedly, hoping he would somehow be heard. At Remus' end he absoloutley defintely 100% noticed Sirius was staring and absoloutley definately 100% was not thinking how he could not look away.
Because that would be weird.
That was still definately not happening when James came back from entering his name and of course he thought nothing of it because he is observeant as a brick, he wouldn't even notice if one of his best friends was passing information to someone trying to kill him. Lily however knew exactly what was happening and she would do anything to get it to happen.
"Sirius!" called the voice of Marlene who was running over "SIRIUS!"
Sirius finally pulled his eyes away from Remus to see a blonde ponytail jumping up and down attatched to a beaming face. "Hey Marlene!"
"Are you ok Marls?" laughed another girl "You're smiling!"
Marlene went pink and said "Oh shut up meadows." giving her a gentle nudge "Thats Dorcas by the way,"
"Acknowledged the existence of my first name have we?" Dorcas grinned
Marlene rolled her eyes and turned to Sirius "What you send last night, it really helped,"
"No problem." smiled Sirius
"I decided to enter the tournament!"
"Good for you!" Sirius' voice went kind of high pitched, shut up your gay is showing!

That night was full moon, and the next morning Sirius was looking for Remus and someone told him he was in the hospital wing. He had ran there (getting lost) and gone to sit by Remus' bed because he wasn't awake yet.

Remus' eyelids fluttered slightly, Sirius sat bolt upright "Remus!?"
Remus woke up and had no clue what was happening am I dead? Did they send an angel to get me? hold on, I know him. "S- Sirius? What- Why're you here?"
"Are you ok!?" Sirius ignored the question
"It's nothing I'm fine." Remus replied, Sirius opened his mouth to state the obvious but Remus cut him off "Did you come here for me?"
"No I came for the other zero people here." said Sirius, rolling his eyes "Of course I did. Now will you tell me why you're here?"
Remus turned away in shame, he wanted to tell him but he'll probably just get up and leave if I tell him (like I said he's no Ravenclaw).
"Ok fine, don't tell me, I already know I just wanted to see if you'd tell me." Sirius saw his panicked expression "No one told me don't worry, I figured it out, I'm not stupid. I won't tell anyone don't worry"
"Aren't you scared?" Remus whispered
"What would I be scared of? You?" Remus nodded but regretted it immediatly, he had the worst headache "I have no reason to be scared of you. The demon of hell that latched onto you however, that I have a reason to fear."
Remus smiled, no on put it that way before, they made it sound like a  part of him that had always been there. It hadn't.
"I also have an idea of how to help." Sirius knew it wouldn't be easy to convince Remus.
"Nonononono. No." Remus knew it'd be dangerous before he even knew what it was "No. No one is risking their lives for me."
"Who said it'd be dangerous?" smirked Sirius
"Your face." Remus could be very defiant "So don't even tell me."
"Bu-"
"No."
"Jus-"
"No."
"Mayb-"
"No."
"I lo-"
"No. Wait what?"
"Animagi!"
Sirius grinned at Remus who was still computing what was he going to say? heeeeeee loathes me? no. he loves me? ... nah probably not.
"You didn't say no." Sirius knew he'd won
"Wha-"
"I'll go tell James!"
"Wait, no! Sirius!"

"So Sirius told me his idea," started James "I'm doing it too. peter?"
"Uhh" this wasn't peters area
"You don't have to pete." Remus assured him
"I'll do it, could be usefull in the future." peter decided
"Ok so we'll ask McGonagall some 'hypothetical' questions, I know theres a potion involved so we can find that in the library." James seemed like he wanted to make up for not hinking of this sooner.
Remus couldn't be happier - that's a lie he'd be happier if it was less dangerous - his friends would do anything for him, would it be like this forever? maybe. They'd be friends for the rest of their lives (he's in for an unpleasant surprise).

Ok so who should the champions be? Sirius? James? Marlene? some insignificant person?
I think Sirius and one of the others would be interesting. If you have an idea please share.
