The next day, they were told who would be the school champions, they were gathered on benches in the great hall when the goblet of fire was brought out. First, Durmstrangs champion was picked, then when it was Beauxbatons turn Sirius was sat on the edge of his seat "For Beauxbaton," started Dumbledore as he read off a piece of parchment "Sirius Black!" there was yells of triumph from James and Sirius and scattered applause from other people as Sirius leapt up and jogged down to the front where Dumbledore directed him into another room where he sat with the Durmstrang champion.
There was another eruption from the great hall as the Hogwarts champion was chosen. Sirius got up to see who it was, when Marlene came running in "SIRIUS!" she yelled "IT WAS ME! IT WAS MY NAME!"
"I figured," laughed Sirius giving her a hug "excited?"
"Definately!" she was beaming from ear to ear as she sat down to wait for the teachers, then shortly decided she wanted to get up and start pacing infront of the fire.
" 'e is talented yes but 'e isn't too keen on rules." said Madame Maxime as she walked in with Dumbledore and the headmaster of Durmstrang,
"We have our fair share of troublemakers here too." laughed Dumbledore before addressing the students "Now, there will be three tasks, one before Christmas and the other two after."

When they got back to the rest of the school, Sirius and Marlene went over to James, Remus, Lily and Dorcas. Remus wasn't paying attention to the others, he was trapped in horrible thoughts of how it could go terribly wrong and someone could die because that's Remus Lupin for you, he'll live though right? They won't want the paperwork right? Please say he'll live. He wasn't sure who exactly he was talking to, Merlin? But what could he do? "What d'you think Remus?"
Someone said my name, thought Sirius coming back to reality, just agree you can't go wrong. He nodded.
"So you think I'm going to fail miserably too?" it was Sirius, but apparently Remus' flawless plan had one minor flaw.
"No I-" Remus tried correcting his mistake but he was cut off by Sirius' laughter,
"We noticed you weren't really paying attention so we decided to annoy you." laughed James, Lily just rolled her eyes and muttered what sounded like "Survival of the fittest"
Remus gave Sirius a playfull shove "LeT mE dRoWn In My ThOuGhTs In PeAcE!" he whined, jokingly making everyone laugh, Sirius caught his eye and smiled, which though he'd never admit it made him almost fall over.

It had been a week or so now and unfortunately, it was full moon, not only that, but blood moon. It sounded worse. The only difference they knew of was that Remus had no fliter the next day "He'll live right?" Sirius asked James as Remus left to go to the shrieking shack "It won't be more painful or anything?"
"No, apperently it's the blue moons that're the worst," James replied "he gets really tired and it's more painful."
Sirius gave him a look that clearly said great thanks I really needed to know how much pain he could get in I always wanted to know what terrible things happen to that cute boy, (I know, a look can say a lot) the last bit wasn't that clear to James of course. Lily gave James a pillow to the face "He doesn't want to know James." she said, James - being James - collapsed onto the floor acting like the pillow was some sort of rock, "How did that hurt?" she sighed, James did nothing "Is he alright?" she asked Sirius. James had started having a victory silent fit of laughter "He'll live." Sirius sniggered at the messy haired boys terrible acting skills.

The next morning, Sirius and James had rushed down into the shrieking shack, neither of them could sleep because of the howls coming from it. Remus was asleep and bleeding on the floor. Lily had told Madame Pomfrey that James and Sirius were getting Remus and Sirius knew the healing spells of by heart now so they were going to heal him then take him back to the hospital wing. Sirius lifted Remus onto the bed and kneeled infront of him "Vulentura," he whispered over and over again, healing Remus' wounds.
"How do you know how to do that?" asked James in awe "Isn't it really advanced?"
Sirius didn't particularly want to tell James about his abusive parents so he said "My um... my brother is very clumsy so, I learnt to help him."
"That's nice," said James "I wish I had a sibling."
Sirius laughed as he put his wand down "You really don't mate, it's a nightmare." especially when they hang around with "the wrong type" he thought.
This was the moment when Remus woke up "Sirius?"
"And James!" added James
"What're you doing here?" Remus really hoped they hadn't been there all night,
"We came to take you to the hospital wing." replied Sirius
"Why aren't I bleeding?" Remus normally woke up covered in blood like his clothes were now,
"Sirius knows healing spells." said James, like he was flexing his best friend. Remus made some sort of awed sound, tried to get off the bed then fell back, wincing.
"You aren't walking all the way back." said James, activating mother hen mode.
"Then how am I getting back?" sighed Remus
"I can carry you?" suggested Sirius who was more than happy to carry him,
"You what?" asked Remus, he didn't have a filter at the moment so he sort of surprised himself "Sorry."
"It's fine," laughed Sirius making Remus' heart do a backflip "I'd make sure someone was able to before I let them carry me," he turned to James "May I?"
"Sure." said James, who was constantly well fed and didn't change his form completely every month, Sirius easliy picked him up bridal style and when Remus said he was not going to be carried like that James got on Sirius' back instead. "Fine," said Remus "I guess I'm not getting back any other way."
James helped Remus onto Sirius' back and Sirius carried him back to the hospital wing. When they got out the other end of the tunnel Lily had come over "Is he alright?"
"He'll live," replied Sirius "he just needs rest now." Remus was resting, he had fallen asleep on Sirius' back, he told himself it was because he was so warm but in reality, he fell asleep because he felt safe, even thought he'd only known him for about a month.

When Remus was laying in his usual bed, he sat there wishing he could go to his lessons to take notes even though James and peter were doing it for him. Just then, Sirius climbed through the window, he had escaped from his Beauxbaton lessons to come sit with Remus. Remus would be happier, only he didn't particularly want to tell Sirius why he'd been staring at him as much as he was. "Hi!" said Sirius
"Hello." replied Remus, his hazel eyes not leaving Sirius' grey ones.
"Do you do much in here?" asked Sirius
"Not really," Remus replied "Just sit here, eat something at lunch etc."
"Oh," Sirius wanted Remus to enjoy himself "Wanna play chess? or something."
"My brain isn't really working right now." said Remus truthfully "Sometimes I just want to be normal, like everyone else, I don't want to have to do this." honestly that just broke Sirius' heart, he just wanted Remus to be happy "Honestly Remus," he started "there is no normal, everyone has something to make them unique, you are the most amazing person I've met in my life. How you deal with this and manage to hide it is beyond my comprihension." Remus smiled, although he was still very bored, Sirius probably saw this as he said "Wanna see me do a backflip?" Remus laughed and nodded. Sirius pulled his eyes away from Remus and moved into a space to do a backflip, then he did a kartwheel, then a walkover, then he was doing an entire show for him.
