Leah woke up to the harsh tone of her home phone ringing. It kept ringing, so she figured her mother wasn't home.

"Mother?" Leah called out. No answer. She took a sigh of relief and went to answer the phone.

"Hello, this is the Bell residence."

"Heyyyy Leah!" She recognized the voice to be Richie's. Leah giggled.

"Hey, Richie. You know you could've knocked on my door, right?"

"Yes...but anyways, you ready for the Barrens?" Richie asked. Oh shoot, the Barrens. Leah had completely forgot that they planned to go today.

"Oh, can I have like 10 minutes? I need to get ready."

"Yeah of course! Just knock on my door when you're ready."

"Ok. See you then!"

"Byeeee" Leah walked back upstairs to get ready. She put on a band shirt. "The Cure." The Cure had to be one of her favorite bands, her favorite song was Six Different Ways. She put on some simple ripped jeans and black converse and went into her bathroom.

She quickly brushed through her blonde hair and brushed her teeth. She applied some lip gloss and that's when she saw the mark on her left cheek. All the memories came flooding back into her head from last night when her mother hit her. She shook her head to get rid of the thoughts and since she didn't have anything to cover it up, she hoped no one would ask about it. It wasn't super noticeable anyways. She didn't care enough to eat breakfast, she just wanted to get out of the house, so she ran out of the door and got on her bike to go knock on Richie's door.

She rode over to Richie's and she knocked on the door. There was the trashmouth, already ready to go.

"Ready to go?" Richie questioned.

"Yeah." Leah replied. After that, they walked over to their bikes and got on them. Richie led the way to Eddie's house because, obviously, she's never been. There was a comfortable silence around them the whole ride, neither one of the kids wanting to break it. Soon enough, they arrived at Eddie's house about the same time Bill did.

"H-hey guys!" Bill said to them.

"Hey Bill!"

"Hey."

Eddie heard them outside of his house and went out to greet them. Once they were on his porch Eddie turned to Leah.

"Hey uh..Leah."

"Yeah Eddie?"

"You should probably stay out here..my mom doesn't like me hanging out with girls.."

"Oh, of course! Don't worry, I'll be fine." Leah said with a reassuring smile.

"Ok, we'll be out quickly." All of the guys went inside and Leah sat on the ground in front of Eddie's house so his mom couldn't see her. As Leah was sitting in peace in her own thoughts she hears "do you want one from me too, Ms. K?" Of course, it was Richie who said that. Leah held back a laugh as Eddie pushed Bill and Richie out of the house, closing the door behind them.

*~ Time skip to the Barrens ~*

"I don't know I- I guess" Eddie responds to Stan. They all start walking to the drainage pipe.

"That's poison ivy, and that's poison ivy, and that's poison ivy." Stan says while pointing to a variation of plants, none of which resemble actual poison ivy.

"Where? Where's the poison ivy?" Eddie said, slight panic laced his words. Leah put a hand on he shoulder reassuringly.

"NOWHERE. Not every fucking plant is poison ivy, Stanley." Richie commented. Richie and Bill go into the drainage pipe while Leah, Eddie, and Stan stand outside of it.

"Ok well, I'm starting to get itchy now, and I'm pretty sure this is not-" Eddie is cut short by Richie.

"Do you use the same bathroom as your mother?" Richie simply asked. Leah slowly stepped into the drainage pipe along with the other two.

"Sometimes, yeah." Eddie says back.

"Then you probably have crabs."

"That is so not funny." Leah and Richie turn around to see Stan and Eddie stood there looking in, disgusted.

"Aren't you guys coming in?" Richie asks the two.

"Yeah, come on! It isn't that bad." Leah added.

"Nuh uh. That's grey water." Eddie says to Richie and Leah, looking at them like they're crazy.

"What the hell is grey water?" Richie asks Eddie while looking at Leah. She shrugs.

"It's basically..piss and shit, so I'm just telling you!" Eddie explains while raising his arms. "You guys are splashing around in millions of gallons of Derry pee." Leah cringes as the explanation, questioning if she should really be in this or not. Richie picks up a stick and smells it, while everyone looks at him grossed out.

"Doesn't smell like caca to me señor!" Richie counters.

"O-ok I can smell that from here."

"Its probably just your breath wafting back into your face." Richie motions towards his mouth. Eddie looks highly annoyed and he sighs.

"Have you ever heard of a staph infection?!" Eddie whines while raising a hand again.

"Oh, I'll show you a staff infection!" Richie teases and searches for something to pick up and throw at Eddie, while Eddie rambles.

"This is so unsanitary. You're literally- this is literally like swimming inside of a toilet bowl right now. I mean have you every heard of listeria-" Eddie is cut short once again by Richie who throws a trash bag at him with the stick he smelled. Leah laughs at the interaction when Eddie screams.

"Are you DUMB- I mean YOU'RE the reason that we're in this position right now because your-" Eddie was cut short again but it wasn't Richie. This time it was Bill.

"GUYS." Bill stops all of the talking and they all look at him. He is pointing down to a white shoe that is floating amongst the sewage.

"Shit. Don't tell me that's.." Stan says with worry. Eddie and Leah glance at Stan then look back to Bill.

"No. G-Georgie wore galoshes." Bill stutters out. Leah's heart ached for the boy. She could practically see how much pain Bill was in after Georgie went missing.

"Who's sneaker is it?" Eddie questions, which makes Leah slosh through more 'grey water' to get to the shoe and see whose it is. Richie got to it first and grabbed it out of Bill's hand and shined his flashlight into it.
