Once they got Ben all fixed up, they all headed home. Richie rode with Leah back to their houses again.

"Hey, Leah?"

"Yeah?"

"What was that with Beverly?"

"W-what do you mean?" Leah stutters slightly, now knowing that he saw the awkwardness between the two.

"When she came down the alley with Bill. You two made eye contact with each other then looked away super quickly."

"Oh.." Leah had no idea how to get around this, so she confessed the truth.

"When I first moved her, Beverly was really my first friend. We got super close and hung out almost everyday. That was until the rumors started spreading about her like wildfire. Of course my mom had to hear about these rumors. She didn't want me to hang out with her anymore because she "didn't want her to get me doing things that I shouldn't." I knew that the rumors weren't true, and I still don't believe them." Leah finished with a frown.

"Oh..that sucks." was all Richie could think to say. He didn't know what to say in full honesty.

"Yeah, it does." The rest of the ride was completely silent, until they pulled up to the corner that they separate at. Leah knew that her mom would probably be home, so she told Richie to go ahead and she'll loop around and come back awhile after he did, just to be safe.

"Adios, señorita!" Richie breaks out his awful Spanish accent and Leah giggles.

"Bye Rich!" Leah yells after him. Once she sees Richie safely on his porch, she starts looping around the path that they took one more time. She was a few minutes away from their street when she hears her name being called. She stops her bike and hops off, looking to the left where she heard the voice.

"Leah!"

It sounded like a male voice, but she didn't know who. It wasn't Henry, she knew that. It didn't sound like any of the Losers, and there's almost no possibility in it being Richie. So, being the curious kid she is, she went to go look. She walked through the woods to a slight opening and saw something she never thought she would.

Richie was laying in the middle of the opening, He looked awful, with cuts and dirt all over his body. His hair was disheveled, his glasses broken, and his arm looked broken. His face was drained of all color and he looked sickly. Leah gasped at the sight and sprinted over to him.

"Holy SHIT Rich! What the hell happened??" She had millions of other questions but that's the only one she could get out right now.

"I-I.." Richie couldn't even speak because of how weak and vulnerable he is. His breathing started to get uneven and Leah started to break down crying. She didn't know what to do. She can't call the cops, there's no way he can walk, she can't get him on the back of her bike. She was helpless.

"Richie. It's ok. I'm gonna get you out of here and to safety." Leah lied straight to his face. She thought about yelling for help but she knew no one would help her. All she could do in the moment is hold the pale boy in her arms and hope someone somehow came across the two. Richie's breathing became even worse and his heart started slowing.

"Richie! NO! You're ok. Please..." Leah cried out more and more. And just like that, he was gone. Leah sobbed into his chest and stayed there.

"Hiya, Leah." Leah turned around to see what just called her name and Richie's body poofed into thin air. The, she saw It. His pale white cracked face with blood red lines from his forehead to his lips, golden eyes, orange hair, and the dirty white clown outfit. She was confused beyond imaginable.

"W-what?" She sobs out, still crying. She didn't know what just happened. First she had Richie's body in her arms and right as she looks at this clown, his body just..went away. She could only hope that Richie was actually at home, safe.

"Come join me, Leah! If you come, you'll float! We all float down here!" The clown says with a sinister laugh. Leah is frozen with fear, but snaps her head to where Richie's body was. Since she saw no sign of it, she scrambled up from the ground and took off running, hoping that the clown wasn't following her. She looked back and took a breath out that she didn't know she was holding once she saw no sign of the clown. She decided to walk back home instead of going and retrieving her bike, in case the clown was still around there somewhere.

She contemplated if she wanted to go see if Richie was ok or not. She decided against it at first. She wanted to see if her mom was home, and if she was she would stay home. If she wasn't, or she was home and asleep, Leah would run over to Richie's to check on him. She saw her moms car in the driveway and sighed. She sulked up to her front door, getting the key from under the mat, and unlocked it. She heard a tv on in the living room, so she went straight there. Thank god, Leah thought, Her mother was asleep. She bolted right out the door again, quietly so she wouldn't wake her mother.

Once she closed the door she ran faster than she ever has before over to Richie's house. She knocked on their door quickly, already tearing up, hoping that Richie was ok. Thankfully, he was the one to open the door.

"Hey Le- oh..um hey." Richie was cut off by Leah immediately engulfed the boy in a tight hug. Second time..great.
