Alyssa had to resist the urge to go and attack her father right then, right there but instead she swallowed the lump in her throat and walked outside to get another round of training in.

And that's what Alyssa did for the next two months. She sparred with warrior wolves, trained them and made them into wolves that had a fighting chance.

Jordan was concerned about Alyssa's mental health. He knew that she liked to turn things off and not face them but this was something that he hadn't seen from her.

Alyssa had continually neglected everything else around her besides training and Jordan was done with it. Daniel missed her, Xavier missed her, the pack missed their Luna, and Jordan missed his mate.

Jordan walked onto the training field and said loudly,

"Training is done for today."

Some wolves groaned and other wolves cheered. Jordan looked over to Alyssa and if looks could kill he'd be six feet under.

"You," He said pointing to Alyssa, "come with me. Now."

Alyssa rolled her eyes and looked like she wanted to throttle him but followed Jordan through the palace.

"What?" Alyssa asked, irritated once they were in Jordan's office.

"What? What do you mean 'what?'. Those are the first words you've said to me in months!"

"Maybe because I didn't want to talk to you." Alyssa snapped.

"I'm your mate!" Jordan yelled. "You kinda have to talk to me!"

"I didn't even want a mate before I knew you!" Alyssa shot back.

Rejection shot through Jordan and he asked in a soft, saddened tone,

"Are you rejecting me?"

Alyssa's eyes softened but her face didn't. She stayed quiet like she wasn't sure.

After a moment Alyssa wrapped her arms around Jordan and sobbed into his chest. She clutched his t-shirt and cried into his chest.

Jordan wrapped his arms around her body and gently moved his hand up and down.

"Y-You're the only one who's ever made me feel like this." Alyssa said into his chest.

"Like what?"

"Loved." Alyssa said, "I-It scares me Jordan."

Jordan was slightly confused but now didn't seem like the time to ask. As if she could read his thoughts, Alyssa said,

"Paxton took me when I was 8. I hardly remember anything from before that. What I do remember, was bits and pieces of my dad constantly mad at my mother. Our family was broken from the start. Then I had less than a year with my mom before she died. The only way my dad expressed love was through these stupid rings and shifting magic."

Alyssa sniffled into Jordan's now wet t-shirt and continued,

"When I met you on Alpha Mark's land all I knew was the thrill of the fight. The challenge. You made me see that, that wasn't the only thing there was. That there was happiness among the sadness. Love among the hate. Calm in the middle of the storm. And that scared me Jordan. So I did what I do best...I pushed you away. I ran."

Jordan wasn't sure what to say. He didn't know that this was how Alyssa felt. That this is what she went through. In an attempt to lighten the mood, Alyssa said in a light tone,

"Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk."

Jordan let out a small laugh and so did Alyssa. Alyssa pulled back and wiped her tears before Jordan could.

"Sorry about the shirt." Alyssa said sheepishly.

"Don't worry about it...Alyssa?"

"Yeah?" She asked, not quite looking at him. He moved her face so that she had a clear view of his face and theirs eyes made contact as Jordan said,

"I love you."

Alyssa was a little stunned but practically jumped at him and their lips found each other. It was slow and soft at first but then it became more heated.

Jordan's tongue danced at Alyssa's mouth asking for entrance but she denied earning herself a growl from him.

After several more tries Alyssa finally let him in and their tongues danced for dominance.

They did this for at least half an hour before Alyssa pulled back and said breathless,

"Wow."

"Wow." Jordan copied with a laugh.

"Did you mean it?" Alyssa asked.

"What?" Jordan said with a puzzled expression.

"That you love me."

Jordan stepped closer and his eyes darkened as he said,

"Of course I love you Alyssa Wilder."

Alyssa smiled and blushed a little. She wasn't sure that she could say it back to Jordan but she wanted to. She felt it.

She felt like she was at the top of a roller coaster looking down at the next exhilarating part, but he still made her feel this sense of calm when she's around him. Alyssa felt that undeniable trust that she'd never given to anyone other than family. Alyssa can imagine her future with him, as his Queen, his Luna, the mother of their children. Alyssa felt this undeniable energy when she was around him.

Then a terrifying yet amazing thought crossed her mind.

She loved Jordan.

Yay I fixed things! *cough cough* mostly.

We still got a ways to go before everything's alright with the world but I saved their relationship.

On that note, I have decided to do a sequel but I will not be telling you about what yet.

Only five more chapters to go!!

It's saddening but happy.

Anyway, on with the story!
