Jordan watched as Alyssa walked solemnly out of view and when he was sure she was gone, he grabbed Xavier by the collar of his shirt, slammed him against the wall and Ryder asked,

"What was that?"

"N-nothing" Xavier stammered

Throwing him against the wall once again he asked in a low voice,

"What. Was. That?"

Xavier, seeming to regain control of his fear said,

"It's not my story to tell. You should put me down before my wolf takes over and rips your head off because he doesn't care if you're Alyssa's mate or not."

Jordan thought about it for a moment before setting Xavier down. Anyone else he would have killed them right then, right there, but he quickly remembered that Xavier was Alyssa's brother and she'd probably hate him forever if he killed her brother.

"I'm going to go check on Alyssa." Jordan said in a strained voice, "Go anywhere else."

Jordan walked up the massive staircase and before going back to his room with Alyssa, he made a pit stop in Queen Clancy's room.

She was a mess.

Her room was completely torn apart and she sat on the edge of the bed, crying.

"What happened with Alyssa?" Jordan asked in a quiet voice.

"I-i took her to the pond. Y-your m-mother's pond. She stuck her hand in and s-she pulled her hand out the second it touched. T-the water turned b-black, p-pitch black."

"Oh God." Jordan muttered, "Are you sure?"

"A-absolutely."

Jordan nearly ran out of the room to go find Alyssa. She was sleeping.

He wished he could help her. He wished that his mother was here. But neither would or could happen.

He stared at her sleeping form and went to the opposite side of the bed before laying down with her. He gently stroked her hair and fell asleep to her shallow breathing.

Several hours later it was dark, and Jordan was sound asleep until he heard Alyssa stir.

He opened his eyes and looked at her. She was trembling and had a cold sweat on her forehead. He went to wake her up when she shot straight up.

He didn't know why but he pretended to be asleep. He could feel her eyes on him but they snapped away.

Suddenly, he felt her get up, and a few moments later she opened the balcony.

Now Jordan fully opened his eyes and sat up. She wasn't on the balcony anymore but walking towards someone.

He felt a growl escape his lips but he didn't move. He wanted to know what she was doing.

The shadowed man grabbed Alyssa's hair and dragged her to the fighting rink. She was going to face yet another full grown wolf.

Although, this was exactly what Paxton had trained her for. Brutal Fighting.

The small 13 year old girl took her fighting stance and waited for the wolf to make the first move.

He did, swinging a right hook which she dodged.

Paxton had taught her how to use her smaller form to her advantage.

She dodged to his right and kicked the back of his knee causing him to fall.

He swung around violently and hit Alyssa's temple. She fell to the ground and started to see stars.

'No!' She muttered to herself. She was going to lose this fight, which meant more training and more beatings.

She briefly heard the knock out call before everything went black.

Alyssa shot upright in the bed. She had a pounding headache but refused to let it get to her. She looked around and saw Jordan sleeping peacefully.

She admired him for a little but before she heard an all too familiar bird call.

Alyssa looked out the balcony window and saw a large black wolf outside.

She stood up and grabbed her leather jacket that was hanging up and walked to the balcony before making the two story jump down.

She walked over as Josh shifted back into human form.

"Enjoying the castle?" He asked, with a little bit of rage.

"I found my mate." Alyssa blurted which caused a grin to break out on Josh's face. "Xavier did too." She said breathless from the hug Josh pulled her into.

"Who is he? Does he know? Is he a Royal? Do you need me to break you out?" Josh asked without a breath between each question.

"He doesn't know, he is a Royal, I could break out if I wanted and you don't wanna know who he is." Alyssa deadpanned.

Josh raised his eyebrows and glanced at the room she just came out of.

"Who is it?"

"I said you don't wanna know."

Josh paused a moment before saying,

"How about you tell me and I tell you what I know."

Alyssa contemplated this and said,

"Fine but you go first."

"Fine." Josh huffed, "Dad has been trying to get passed the Royal borders to find you and get you back. I think he even has someone inside the palace, so be careful. I'm pretty sure he banished Xavier for going against a direct order of his. The twins are searching everywhere but the palace for you."

"Dad wants me to come back? Why?" Alyssa asked.

"Ego? Or maybe he wants his best warrior back."

Alyssa let out a long breath before asking,

"How'd you get past the guards?"

"Scent masking and being silent."

Alyssa shrugged in response and Josh let out a tsk,

"Who's your mate?"

"Thealphaking" Alyssa said quietly.

"Louder." Josh commanded

"The Alpha King." Alyssa gave Josh a small nervous smile and he let out a low growl.

"Please tell me you're joking." Josh said gruffly as though his wolf was trying to speak.

"I'm not." Alyssa confirmed.

Josh punched a nearby tree leaving a large hole in it.

"Josh calm down." Alyssa said. He didn't so Alyssa tried to change the subject.

"How's Victoria settling in?"

"...fine." Josh said with a long sigh. "Her wolf is finally getting its strength back. She's adjusting well to her new life and she set up to become the new pack doctor."

"That's great. I'm happy for her."

They both stood there in a comfortable silence before Josh handed her a card and said,

"If you ever need anything, just call or come find me, ok?"

She took the card and said,

"Ok."

They gave each other goodbye hugs and Alyssa said,

"Be safe."

He shifted and gave her a wink.

She smiled and rolled her eyes before trying to figure out how she was going to get back up. She saw a tangle of vines near the window and started to climb back up. When she came level with the window again she was 6 feet away from it.

Climbing up a little higher she jumped back onto the balcony gracefully and with no sound. She walked in only to find a very awake and very mad Alpha King.
