**6 months later**

Alyssa had successfully avoided the Royal search party with the help of her new befriended witch, Galvin.

Galvin had masked Alyssa's scent and alerted Alyssa whenever Royals were near.

Alyssa was hurt, Jordan was hurt, and although Aria was mad at Alyssa for running, Alyssa was all that mattered to her.

To control her bloodlust, Alyssa hunted animals daily and as long as she got a kill, the bloodlust didn't much bother her.

Against her better judgement, Alyssa stayed in the tree she found the first night and made it more cozy, although with winter just around the corner, she wasn't sure how long that would work.

----

Alyssa walked to Galvin's house avoiding the nearby streets. She knocked at the front door and Galvin greeted her with a hug saying,

"Thank goodness you're alright, come in, the King is nearby."

Alyssa's heart swelled at the thought of Jordan and Aria howled excitedly.

"It has been 6 months Galvin." Alyssa said solemnly.

"Do you want me to unmask your scent?"

Alyssa shook her head.

"He found me once and I'm still deciding if that was a good or bad thing."

Galvin just nodded his head and Alyssa's Wilder ring burned on her finger. She gasped in shock and mentally cursed as she said,

"Someone just challenged Jordan."

"What? How do you know?"

"My Wilder Ring will tell me if one of the ring bearers is in trouble, and Jordan is the only one who has my ring."

"You can't go Alyssa!" Galvin said, worriedly.

"I have to." Alyssa said before she left out the front door.

As she was walking Galvin appeared in front of her and said,

"I'm coming with."

"Galvin-"

Galvin held his hand up to stop her and asked,

"Did you make a kill today?"

"No." Alyssa said admitting defeat.

"Well, what if you lose control and you need a great witch friend to help you."

Alyssa sighed and said,

"Come on."

"Do you know where you're going?"

"Yes." Was all Alyssa said, cutting off the conversation.

It was less than a 5 minute walk to wherever Alyssa was going.

She studied the area and saw the ongoing fight.

Jordan was in wolf form fighting a grey and brown wolf. They both shifted back, panting hard.

Alyssa's eyes hardened when she heard Paxton say,

"You can't just admit defeat can you?"

"No he can't" Alyssa interjected, walking slowly over to where they were just fighting. "I'm shocked Paxton, it took you a whole 6 months to get out? Disappointing." Alyssa said circling him.

"Alyssa, what a surprise? What are you doing here?" Paxton asked, almost sweetly.

"Let me guess Paxton, you challenged Jordan to Certamen for your freedom, and you probably would've won but you missed one crucial detail." Alyssa said in a cool tone.
