Chapter Fifteen

"Announcing her Royal highness Dani Parks and the young Daniel Wilder." The herald called.

"Wilder?" Alyssa asked Jordan.

"I didn't know what else to say." Jordan said with a shrug.

Xavier and Taylor also awaited for their announcement along with Max and Victoria.

Josh was already waiting in the ballroom with the rest of the Royal Pack probably earning himself several stares.

Although Josh did not want to come, Victoria begged him to so he borrowed one of Jordan's tuxedo's.

"Xavier and Taylor will go, then us and as the guest of honor, Victoria and Max will come down." Jordan whispered into Alyssa's ear.

"How is everyone taking to the amount of rogues in the territory?" Alyssa asked.

"Not well, but I am King so they can't really say anything."

Minutes past and the herald called out again,

"Announcing Royal Beta Taylor Booth and Royal Beta Xavier Wilder."

The pair walked out of the doors and Alyssa waited impatiently for her and Jordan to be called.

"I see you wore the leather gloves I got you." Jordan said, sensing Alyssa's nervousness.

"Yeah, I love them." Alyssa said quietly.

Jordan moved his hand up to stroke Alyssa's cheek but she caught his hand and asked,

"Where's the ring?"

"It's on the other hand, Lyssa." Jordan said, holding up his other hand.

"Lyssa?" She asked, letting Jordan's hand go.

"Yeah, I need a cute nickname for you."

"Ok." Alyssa said nodding her head in approval.

"Hey Alyssa." Max said, walking up to the pair.

Alyssa sent him a smile and gave him a hug.

Neither Alyssa or Max liked physical contact but they always seemed to be okay with each other.

Jordan let out a small growl and Alyssa let go, deciding to leave out the small detail that Max and Alyssa were initially supposed to be married in the near future.

Both King Spencer and Beta Carter Lord wanted Alyssa and Max to 'join the two families', but they both wanted (somewhat) to wait for their mates.

It did work out for both of them though. Max has Victoria and Alyssa has Jordan.

The herald snapped Alyssa out of her thoughts as he called,

"Announcing His Royal Majesty Alpha Jordan Parks and Her Highness Alyssa Wilder."

Alyssa hooked her arm around Jordan's and they walked down the grand staircase together.

She ignored the whispers and stares from people but Jordan didn't gripping her arm ever so slightly.

When Alyssa reached the bottom of the staircase she and Jordan began to make their rounds, greeting the pack members. Josh volunteered to watch Daniel for Alyssa...well, more of he was 'voluntold'.

After another long 5 minutes the herald announced,

"Announcing the King's personal guests of honor, Her Royal Highness Victoria Smith and Max Lord."

Polite applause went up along with several comments of disapproval. Jordan's eyes darkened a shade but Alyssa whispered in his ear,

"Try not to make a scene...for Victoria's sake."

Jordan's eye color lessened but his wolf was still present. Alyssa guided Jordan to one of the tables and grabbed them both a drink.

She began to drink the cool champagne and Jordan said quietly,

"Aren't you a little young to be drinking?"

Alyssa shot him a look and Jordan decided to shut up.

'Smart Man.' Aria commented.

Alyssa snickered and this time Jordan shot her a look. She only shrugged at Jordan and he asked,

"Care to dance, my Queen?"

Alyssa took his outstretched hand and followed him to the dance floor.

The quartet picked up once they saw the King and Queen dancing. Others joined in and Alyssa smiled at Jordan.

Then it hit her.

The uncontrollable bloodlust.

The one she had learned to control years ago.

But now it was back.

She paled several shades and she felt Aria pushing forward trying to help Alyssa.

Alyssa looked around the room and heard each wolf's heartbeat. Their blood.

"Jordan." Alyssa said, almost breathless. "Take me out of here."

Josh and Xavier noticed Alyssa's eyes that were becoming bloodshot and were making their way through the crowd.

Josh had never personally seen Alyssa lose control but Xavier had. It would be a pure blood bath if she did.

Jordan shot Alyssa a confused look and Xavier made it to Alyssa first.

"Jordan we got to go. Now!" Xavier said with urgency.

Jordan got the message especially from Josh's concerned look.

Max tried to come too but Josh told him to stay so they didn't make too much of a scene and Victoria needed protecting.

Alyssa's ears were ringing and she could hardly hear anyone speaking. Just the blood.

"Let Aria have control Alyssa." Josh commanded.

Alyssa tried to tell him that she already tried but Aria couldn't break through.

"Get me out." Alyssa pleaded in a whisper.

Jordan picked her up bridal style and brought her out to his mother's garden.

Now that there was only 3 people around her, Alyssa's bloodlust started to cease. But it was still there.

Aria was able to push through and she said,

"Alyssa usually blocks her emotions, that's why she can control it, but with Jordan...she doesn't want to."

Josh let out a shuddering breath and Jordan was just plain confused.

"What's happening to Alyssa?" Jordan asked.

"She didn't tell you?" Xavier asked and Josh whacked the back of his head in a warning.

"What didn't she tell me?" He asked, struggling to control Ryder

'Tell him about the bloodlust' Alyssa said to Aria 'Only the bloodlust.'

"During a past...experience, Alyssa developed an uncontrollable bloodlust." Aria explained to a confused Jordan, "After some time, Alyssa learned to control it by blocking out her emotions...all of them. Sadness, love, happiness, grief, hope, hate."

Jordan let out a low growl, Aria continued ignoring Jordan's outburst,

"When she met you, she wanted to let you in so she let her emotions run freely, ergo, bloodlust comes too." Aria turned to Josh and Xavier and said,

"I've never seen her so close to losing it, except for when Paxton is nearby-." Aria trailed off as she said the last part.

The dots seemed to click inside Josh's mind as he asked but it sounded more like a statement,

"Paxton's nearby?"
