I am contemplating on switching classes. Because, I can't TAKE IT!
I now know that I clearly remember everything that happened last night and I can't look at him knowing what went on.
When I got to class, he wasn't there just yet. I had time to prepare just in case he approached me after class. I don't know if I have the nerve to look him in those big beautiful eyes and tell him it can't happen again. Maybe I wanted it to!
Any planning that had gone through my mind quickly went out the window, when he walked in. He sits his bag down on the ground and sits behind his desk. When he looks up from his desk, we make eye contact. I know he found the person he was looking for, hoping they were there. Me.
I was the first to look away. That was a big step for me, and I'm proud. But I can't help but notice the hickey on his neck. Oh my god I can't believe I gave this man a fucking hickey. What the hell?! He didn't even bother to cover it up, which I can only assume was to get my attention. That or he didn't even realize.
I seriously need to stop thinking. This is getting out of hand.
Matth- shit no. Dr. Gray clears his throat, "Alright, class. Let's get started."

After class, I try to hurry and get out before he starts to say something. I'm afraid I won't be able to decline any offer he may have for me. But, of course, he picks me out of the crowd and calls me over.
"Ms. Clark, can I see you for a moment?"
Damn it.
I slowly walk to the front of the class, looking at my feet. I can't look him in the eye. I have never been in a situation like this.
I reach his desk, "Yes, Dr. Gray?"
He looks around to make sure no one is still lagging around class. There isn't.
"Haley, I am so sorry for what happened last night. I was drunk and I know that's not an excuse. Nevertheless, it shouldn't have happened and I'm sorry for potentially leading you on."
I must say that I am shocked by his apology. Not that I was expecting him to fuck me over his desk, but I don't know if I expected him to just admit it was wrong. Considering the way he didn't want me to leave this morning.
"Oh yeah. Totally. Should not have happened. I'm sorry I gave in. We should be more careful about things like this."
He smiled. "Glad we agree. See you Thursday."
"See you then." I half smile and walk away.
What I didn't know was that Matthew was silently begging me to return.

Wednesday night.
It is dark. I walk into a house, I don't really know who's it is.
Suddenly I see a tall figure standing in the corner of what I can only assume is a living room. The figure starts to approach me.
Either it is really tall or I am really short. I get a good look and it is a man. He looks almost familiar but I cannot put my finger on it.
When he gets a few inches in front of me, he bends down and whispers something inaudible in my ear. Then, I feel the sharp blade of a knife to the side of my neck. The sensation made me scream as he picks me up and carries me to a room on the other side of this house. I'm still screaming-
"HALEY WAKE UP! Are you okay?!"
I hear Ashlyn's voice as I wake from my nightmare.
I sit up really quickly, too quickly because my head is pounding. I am covered in sweat.
"Are you okay, Haley?"
I start to sob. Ashlyn grabs me up and starts to comfort me. She runs her hand through my hair and her other hand up and down my back to soothe me.
She kisses the top of my head, "It's okay, I'm right here."

The next morning, I wake up and realize what happened during the night.
Another nightmare.
They have been happening since I was like 12 but I haven't had one in months. My doctor told me that stress brings them out, but sometimes my mind just starts to roll. Also, I'm still not sure what the event was that made these nightmares start to occur. No one had ever really comforted me until I started living with Ashlyn. Every time I have a nightmare, she comes in and calms me down. She's the best friend I could ever ask for.
I get up and go to make my breakfast before class.
Ashlyn smiles at me, "Do you feel any better? That was a really bad one last night."
"Yeah well it didn't last as long. But I guess the screaming was worse because you came in quicker than usual."
"It was. I gotta make sure you're okay."
I smile, "You are the best."
"By the way, I'm picking up a shift at the bar this Saturday night. So I won't be home until like 4 a.m. Sunday morning."
"Ash, I thought you weren't gonna work at the bar anymore."
She laughs at me, "Desperate times call for desperate measures. Besides, I only get to work at the Vet Clinic for a couple of days a week. That doesn't pay the bills, sister."
It's my turn to laugh now.
"Alright well I'm only working that morning at Benny's so I will just have some time to catch up on my crime tv. Have you ever watched that show Criminal Minds? It's really good!
"Ew I have no idea how you watch that crap. It's so depressing."
No. It's good. There are some hot men in it too!
"Whatever! I gotta go! Class awaits my presence. See you later."
Off to class I go!
