Anne Mae's POV

I groaned as the phone rang loudly waking me up from my deep slumber. I picked my head up to see the clock read 12 p.m., ugh. Who the fuck is calling me? I finally picked the phone up after two more rings.

"Hello?"

"Anne mae? Are you asleep?"

My heart lit up like fire. I sat up straight with the phone in my hand. I haven't heard from him since my last performance & after he shut down the diamonds club for good. I've been working with prince with his new club. Surprisingly, its doing good for a starter.

"Michael! Something's wrong?"

"No, I just wanted to hear your voice" he said lowly.

"What's wrong?"

"I miss you. I miss your voice, your eyes, your lips, everything about you. I miss it" he said.

"Oh Michael!"

"Anne mae, i think I'm in love with you" he confessed.

I opened my mouth to say something but only a sound came out. He's in love with me?

"Are you drunk?"

"No, I'm fully sober. I haven't been drinking since diana told me she was pregnant" he said.

"How's that going?"

"Terrible, its been three months & she's driving me nuts" he said.

"That's how pregnant women act Michael" I giggled "I take as you don't know much about pregnancy?"

"I did in high school but throughout my years I pushed it to the back of my head. Soon after, I completely forgot about it" he said.

"Michael, why are you calling me late at night?"

"I need you" he said.

"Your still with Diana & she's having your child. You don't need me."

"You don't understand anne mae. You are on my mind constantly. I cant stop thinking about you. Every time I hear music playing, I imagine you on stage performing like a star. With your sexy dresses & sweet soft voice. Its so sexy with a lot of passion. When I first saw you  performing, I did everything in my heart to not jump on that stage & kiss you. You make me do things without thinking. I need you more then ever anne mae" he said sweetly.

"Wow, Michael that's some strong feelings you've got. I didn't know you felt like that. I thought you were staying it on a friendship level?"

"Fuck a friendship, I want a relationship with you & only you. I'll do anything for you" he said.

"We can't be in a relationship because you have child in four months & you need to take care of it."

He sighed "this is too frustrating for me anne. Sexually frustrating."

My cheeks were burning with sensation. I blushed extremely hard. Thank god, he can't see me through the phone.

"Go to sleep Michael."

"Can you sing for me?" He asked anxiously.

"Now? Over the phone?"

"Please, I need to hear your voice again" he begged.

I hesitated at first but gave in.

Kissing like a bandit, stealing time
Underneath a sycamore tree
Cupid by the hour sends valentines
To my sweet lover and me
Slowly but surely
Your appetite is more than I knew
Sweetly, softly
I'm falling in love with you

Wish me love, a wishing well to kiss and tell
A wishing well of butterfly tears
Wish me love, a wishing well to kiss and tell
A wishing well of crocodile cheers, sing

Hugging like a monkey see, monkey do
Right beside a riverboat gambler, hahaha
Erotic images float through my head
Say you wanna be a midnight rambler
(I wanna be a midnight rambler)
Quickly, but quickly
The blood races through my veins
Quickly, loudly
I wanna hear those sugar bells ring

Wish me love, a wishing well to kiss and tell
A wishing well of butterfly tears
Wish me love, a wishing well to kiss and tell
A wishing well of crocodile cheers, get up

Wish me love, a wishing well to kiss and tell
A wishing well of butterfly tears, come on
Wish me love, a wishing well to kiss and tell
A wishing well of crocodile cheers, uh

The phone went silent for a minute. I heard soft whimpering in the background. He was crying.

"Michael?"

"I love you" he sobbed.

"I-."

"Say it back, please?" He asked.

I looked around my apartment as if somebody was watching me. I put the phone down for a second. He's not himself right now. Should I say it back?

"I love you too Michael."

He laughed softly "I knew it."

"Michael, go to sleep."

"Okay, I will" he said.

Before I could hang up, he said something.

"What is it Michael?"

"I'm opening the diamonds club up again."
