Anne Mae's POV

I sat down in the booth of the diamonds club. Everything looks different from last time. New furniture, new clothes, new theme, & new atmosphere. I looked at the stage that was once my spotlight. Its now gone & replaced with a jukebox. I scoffed, pathetic.

"Fancy, seeing you here."

"Hey, Bobbi

"Hey, Bobbi." I took off my shades. She sat across from me. Me & Bobbi have became friends. I know its weird but she's a true one. I trust her, although I still have her little secret if she fucks up.

"How are you?" She asked.

"I'm fine, what about yourself?"

"I received a invitation to the new diamonds club. I assumed its from Michael" she said.

"I just came through the back door. I wanted to see how it looked on the inside."

"Doesn't look half bad, just new furniture" she said.

"Yes, indeed."

"I heard Diana is eight months pregnant" she said.

"Good for her."

"Not good, he's still beating on her. Well, he's slapping her around a little but not beating her as usual" she corrected.

"What about you?"

"He stopped" she said.

I arch an eyebrow "really, is that so?"

"Yeah, I think he's coming back to reality" she said.

"Or its because of the baby."

"How are things going on at the kid?" She asked.

"Different, prince got me recording like crazy these past weeks."

Lately, me & prince have been working on music like crazy. Every record i've done has been placed in a file. I have enough songs for three albums. No, I still haven't been played on the radio yet. But we're getting to that point.

"I'm actually worried about that unborn child. I don't think its safe for it."

"Your saying, he doesn't deserve to be a father?" She said.

"Maybe but Michael needs mental help. You should've seen how he beat Diana. It was horrible!"

"I can imagine so, but she's so in love with him. They're marriage is toxic" she agreed.

"I told her that it isn't healthy. She needs to leave him but oh no. She thinks if she do, then she'll be homeless."

"I rather be homeless then stay with a abusive man" she said.

"Exactly, its sad."

We heard a loud beep on the stage. The jukebox was rolled off the stage. A man in drag came out with a mic.

Its time for the realistic singing, tonight we have a special guest with us. Diamonds club previous singer "Anne Mae" will be performing for us tonight!

Everyone applaud as the spotlight went on me. I smiled awkwardly as the crowd cheered my name.

"Oh no, I couldn't."

"Oh come on queen, please?" He begged.

The crowd begged also making me feel guilty for saying no in the first place. I hesitate but got over it. I went on stage & grabbed the mic from him.

"I haven't been on this stage in a while."

The music began to play.

Captured effortlessly
That's the way it was
Happened so naturally
I did not know it was love
The next thing I felt was you
Holding me close
What was I gonna do?
I let myself go

And now we're flyin' through the stars
I hope this night will last forever

The crowd danced away as I sang my heart out. The colorful lights echoed throughout the whole room making it fun.

I've been waitin' for you
It's been so long
I knew just what I would do
When I heard your song
You filled my heart with a kiss
Ya gave me freedom
You knew I could not resist
I needed someone

And now we're flyin' through the stars
I hope this night will last forever
Oh oh oh oh

Ain't nobody
Loves me better
Makes me happy
Makes me feel this way
Ain't nobody
Loves me better than you

There goes Michael, standing directly in front the exit door. His shades made me the room dark a little. Intimidating washed over me as he took them off. Revealing his cold icy blues. I've always find them so alluring. His bouncy curls were pulled back into a ponytail making him captivating. He gave me a blank expression.

I wait for night time to come
To bring you to me
I can't believe I'm the one
I was so lonely
I feel like no one could feel
I must be dreamin'
I want this dream to be real
I need this feelin'

I make my wish upon a star
And hope this night will last forever
Oh oh oh oh

Ain't nobody
Loves me better
Makes me happy
Makes me feel this way
Ain't nobody
Loves me better than you

After giving that wonderful performance, I went back to the booth.

"Wow, you are incredible!" Bobbi complimented.

"Thanks."

"I have to go, i'll call you later" she said getting up.

"Okay, goodbye."

Once she disappeared, I pulled out a cigarette.

"Here's your drink, ma'am" the waiter said.

"I didn't order anything."

"A mystery man ordered this for you" the waiter winked "also, he wants me to give you a gift."

He pulled out a black box with a white ribbon wrapped around it. He handed me the box & walked away. I opened the box, wow. The shiny silver diamond ring sat in the box. I pulled it out to examine it.

"Good taste

"Good taste." I smirked & drank the complimentary drink. Oh, Michael.
