The next morning, as the sun was still a hazy pink I grabbed my food satchel for the woodland animals. Dried fruits, meats, and plants. I slip on my cloak and creep down the hall outside. Thor was already there sitting on the front steps of my home and I bite my tongue.
"I know your there, Cara." He turns with a ghost of his smile plays on his lips.
"Good morning my prince," I curtsy and he shakes his head.
"No formalities here," he stands and eyes my satchel and cloak. He was in a pale blue short sleeve shirt and brown loose pants.
"Off to the forest?" He gestures to my items.
"Yes, your more than welcome to join me, Thor." I nod and he agrees following behind me. He slides his boots off and we venture barefoot into the forest together. It was quiet as the morning dew wet my feet and the sunshine hardly broke through the trees. I clear my throat.
"Um, I plan on singing.. the animals like it when I wake them up this way for breakfast." I tell Thor and he nods a serious expression plastered on his face.
"Well don't let me stop you, I am a mere spectator."
"The song has no words, it's just vocalizing, so please don't make fun of me. They prefer this." I take a deep breath and he turns around. "And please don't watch either. It will make me nervous."
I get to my knees kneeling. And my voice began soft and slow as I felt the forest awakening. It radiated to every keen pair of ears in the forest. Thor has sat down next to me now with his eyes close listening to my voice. But I was focused purely on watching my tones and sounds. Sometimes people said I sounded like a siren in the ocean.
LOKI'S P.O.V.
I tossed and turned in the bed that Ms. Salvador had set up for me. And then I heard it. A voice, so silvery and tuneful. An angelic feel from it as I stood up. So loud, I bet the whole cottage could hear it as I exited the room, I changed into my new clothes from yesterday heading into the forest to find the owner of the voice. The more I grew anxious to find it the closer I got.
And there she was humming to the animals, Thor was next to her handing out food to creatures as they surrounded her. Enchanted by her voice. I was enchanted. I could listen to that for hours. Days. And be perfectly content.
She smiles her mouth still belting soft notes and sees a unicorn come out from the bushes, with white glossy fur and a purple mane. She bows in its direction and the unicorn bows back as Carmella kisses it's snout handing her a golden apple and she eats it whole. The beautiful female unicorn neighs at her and Carmella nods looking at Thor.
"She wants you to apologize." Carmella tells Thor who bows to the unicorn and she carefully takes his wrist and guides it to the unicorns snout. It nudges Thor and he laughs. They talk quietly with one another.
"I am glad you and Loki have a good connection," he says randomly and I duck behind a tree being sure I can still hear them.
"How do you mean?" She asks him while dropping a piece of dried meat for a little fox.
"I mean, that you two seem close." I wasn't sure what Thor was playing at to be quite honest.
"Well, yes. A lot went down during the fight with my birth mother. We have a strong mutual connection to one another." I couldn't help but smirk at her answer.
"Is there anything between you?" Thor asks her.
Did he mean romantically?
