*This ISN'T the final chapter, but we are getting close, and then I'm going to edit.*
April flew by like a hurricane. Within a split second May was finally here. This month practically told me, my ticket to freedom is almost here. I couldn't believe it at all. I went through thirteen years of school, made tons of friends, and had great memories. I didn't know how to feel about this day. On one hand, I was glad I'm finally graduating. On the other, it's pretty upsetting seeing everyone go their seperate ways.
But today, known as the day of my graduation, seemed like it came quicker than expected. I did my normal routine for the day. Get up at six, curl my hair, put on a dress since, it's finally that day, then I did my make up, and finally ate breakfast.
When I walked downstairs, I could tell my mom was nearly in tears. Her baby grew up into a woman. She saw me from the day I was born, to the moment I opened my eyes, and finally, the day I graduated school all together. It all seems so unreal to her.
Stacy then walks down the steps behind me. A dress as well, her hair in a bun, and very little make up. I gave her a big hug before waiting for my friends to show up and pick us up.
We wait about ten minutes past seven before everyone showed up. When I saw each of their faces I wanted to cry. We made it through thirteen years of school together. Each of them were dressed up. Even Jackie and that's unusual for her. Her jeans and t-shirt are now replaced with a pencil skirt and blouse. Her converse are replaced with flats. Bridget, she's got herself a nice high low dress instead of sweats and a tank top. What replaced her uggs, Jackie's converse. Danielle is obviously wearing my floral dress that comes to mid thigh and is strapless. She has a pair of toms on instead of combat boots. Damien, he's not dressed redneck style right now, he's button up style. It suits him though. Stanley, also wearing a button up.
We all then join together in a group hug. Each completely amazed by how quickly time passed. We leave at about seven twenty.
"Where are we having our graduation party?" Stanley asks the group.
"My house, pool party." Bridget explains.
Arriving to the school was almost an emotional train wreck.
We all gathered at our usual spot. No longer standing here every morning is going to be so weird. Once the bell rings we all intertwine fingers. My five idiotic best friends. But they are awesome idiots. We've had our moments of hatred towards each other, but after that moment, we moved past it.
We get our cap and gowns before sitting down. Our whole school and parents are here. I look over in the section of parents and find my mom, my dad, Lucy even, and smile. My dad actually made it to one of my school functions for once.
The principal of our school walks up to the podeium to speak. "Alright, Ridge High School students, today is your declaration of becoming an adult. After this you are all free to do whatever comes to mind." Mrs. Williams begins. This speach goes on forever, almost making us all fall asleep.
Once she announces the guest speaker I'm even closer to falling asleep. I feel Bridget's head then on my shoulder.
"When will these speeches end?" She whispers.
It's about a half an hour until the guest speaker's speech is over.
By the diplomas everyone got even more excited.
It's a while before someone in our group's name is called. That just so happened to be me. "Macy Larson." Everyone is screaming and cheering. Once I shake Mrs. Williams hand and take my diploma, I look out at the crowd and find my friends. They're going insane. I can't help but laugh before walking back to my seat.
