Growing up has been difficult for me since age fifteen. I hide my scars under these baggy sweaters. I have anxiety problems thanks to a certain someone. He’s the reason I haven’t given up in life. His name is Josiah. I had his name just plastered in my mind. When I would see him its like no one else was around but, us two. All that went through my head was “he would never go out with a girl like me. A girl who has scars all over her arms.” I could clean up a bit before I go up to him.
“Hey, can you come over.” I text my cousin Iris. Tears just rolled down my cheek. Thinking how horrible my life has been at the age of seventeen. First my little brother getting murdered. My little sister starving herself. Finally my parents getting a divorce. Its what all led up to this mess. Down stairs I could hear my mom opening the front door.
“Hi, Iris. Did Macy call you over?” My mom asked.
“Yeah, is she upstairs?” Iris asked
“Yes, go right on up she’s in her room.” my mom said. Iris not only brought her cheery personality with her but our great friends from school. Lila, Bridget, Elizabeth, Melinda, and finally my ex who I’m best friends with Leo.
“Hey, Macy. You alright?” Bridget asked, sitting on my bed next to me.
“Yeah, I’m fine just I needed someone to be with right now.” I saying covering up my arms.
“Let me see your wrists.” Leo demands grabbing my arms and seeing all the scars on them. “This is enough. Macy please stop.”
“Look, Leo, I can explain.” I say as Leo leaves madly.
“Its okay Macy. There’s a reason you guys broke up in the first place.” Iris said.
“He’s also a little jealous in the fact you want to date Josiah.” Bridget said. Thinking about Josiah made me a lot happier. I would actually even smile. Sometimes I would even laugh or blush.
“Come on we’re going to take some where.” Melinda says
“Where are we going?” I ask whipping my eyes.
“To the mall. Nothing makes you happier than band merchandise, right. I mean besides Josiah.” Elizabeth says. I then stood up and grabbed my purse while putting my phone in and headed out of my room.
“There’s the Macy I know.” Lila said.
“See you later mom. I’m going shopping with the girls.” I said hugging my mom.
“Ok be sure to go to your dad’s house afterwards.” My mom said. I never really liked going to my dad’s house. Mostly because I don’t like my dad very much.
"Hey, don’t stress it. How about we throw a small party while your dad is at work?” Bridget suggested. Bridget is right. I need to stop stressing.
“A party sounds great.” I say smiling and getting in the car.
“Oh my gosh. Kolbe is in town!” Melinda says.
“Awesome. Can’t wait to see him again. Seems like its been years since I’ve last seen him.” Iris says.
“Macy, Kolbe is in town, aren’t you happy.” Elizabeth says.
“Yeah I am.” I say smirking. “Can we go to Josiah’s house really quick. I need to drop something off to him.”
“Sure.” Iris says.
“Hey turn on Diana.” Elizabeth tells Melinda.
“The front page has all your pictures.” One Direction’s music makes me so happy, “Diana let me be the one to lift your heart up and save your life. I don’t even think you realize baby you’d be saving mine.” Once the song ended we arrived to Josiah’s house.
