The woman frantically stood up. Her chair made a terrible screeching noise, like nails on a chalkboard. I recoiled at the sound as it echoed throughout the room.
"Hey, Ingrid." You greeted, "Long time no see..."
Ingrid was one of my most supportive friends, who ended up working for me. She had talent and could be an exceptional retail worker if she worked somewhere else. But she wanted to stick with me. I couldn't be more grateful.
"How's your trip?" She walked towards me with an enlightened smile, " Did you visit your parents yet?"
I shook my head and awaited her hug. She laughed and immediately jumped onto me. We both tumbled down. Over the floor from the added weight. Laughing it off, Ingrid and me laid on the tiled floor recovering from my laughing fit.
"So you visited your best friend first, huh!" She squished your cheek, "Am I that important to you! I feel so honored, really!"
I sat there, letting her finish her little speech. May I mention that Ingrid was more of the mom in the group? She'll literally do anything if she put her mind to it. That's what makes her so useful. But she could also be a crackhead sometimes, especially when she's drunk.
I shuddered as I recalled the horrific memory.
"Actually, I visited Ashejr firsths..." I couldn't vocalize the words properly, due to Ingrid's squishing of the cheeks.
My eyes broadened in terror as I saw her admitting a dark aura. I hastened back laughing, apprehensively, as I went. I learned my lesson last time. I definitely did not want to repeat it. Standing up, I waved the frozen Ingrid goodbye. Before she could attack me like a mischievous cat. Walking past the front desk and ultimately past my best friend, I stepped into the elevator.
Pressing a few buttons, the door of the glass elevator closed. I turned around and admired the excellent view of the Fukuoka from above. The elevator dinged, signaling that I arrived at my destination. I marched off into the fifth floor. The strong scent of coffee hit me like a tsunami. Nobody had noticed me yet, the rings of phones conjoined with the voices of people chatting together. Probably one of the speculations why my presence was unnoticed.
I observed the hard-working women and men as they worked hard at their stations. Seems like Ingrid employed some workaholics, I scanned the floor. Everyone was focused on their work, some talking to their friends on their breaks. I smiled in satisfaction and walked into the unit. I walked up to the closest station to see what they were doing.
"Paperworks. Such a boring thing to do, yet your so into it." I eyed the stacks of paperwork. "Should make you an employee of the month."
She rapidly keypunched in some more words onto the computer. I peered at her name tag, written in a pleasant front there laid the name 'Aiko'. I watched her, expecting an emotion, but nothing was shown. I was about to stroll off until she spoke up.
