Hold Onto Me (A Draco Malfoy story)

Hey guys. So I never post anything controversial or whatever, but since it is related to my type of content and Harry Potter, I'm gonna say something so 1, people who don't know are made aware, and 2, so people just know where I stand because this is important.

Ok so no, I don't have a lot of followers. I don't have tons of reads either, but I am still saying this on both of my Draco stories to put it out there.

Recently there has been a lot of drama with Tom Felton, if you're on Harry Potter TikTok you probably know. If not, people are calling him out for being transphobic, liking  jkr's tweets, and overall staying silent throughout this whole thing.

As a member of the lgbtq+ community, I do not speak for trans people, as I am cis, but am trying to educate others and spread around what is happening.

If you can't tell, I believe that Tom is transphobic, and should be held accountable. He is a 30 year old man, he has TikTok, he knows this is going on, but will not speak up.

Even though Draco is one of my favorite characters, I do not support Tom Felton. You are allowed to like Draco without liking Tom, it's just like separating jkr from Harry Potter as a whole.

If you do not understand what he has done, I will give a run down and link some stuff at the bottom so you can look into it more if you want.

First off, when jkr originally made her first transphobic tweet, Tom Felton liked it, and only unliked when people called him out. That enough is showing that he is transphobic. There is the argument that Tom just liked it without reading cause it was her, or it was an accident. This could be true, yes, but the fact that after he liked it he did not say anything to disprove his support or say that it was indeed an accident kind of makes that hard to believe.

Next, he is one of the only actors from the series to stay silent. In the articles down below it shows what a ton of actors did, but Tom still says nothing. When asked directly, he just says he doesn't want to get controversial, but all it is is basic human rights...

He was paid 500$ to say love is love. Yeah- idk how heartfelt that was

The fact that after months and months of asking, Tom will not speak up. This is harmful to the lgbtq community, more specifically the trans community. And these are only a few things he has or hasn't done, simply because I am exhausted.

Please look into it some more. It was really hard for me to realize this because I thought he was a great person, but he is 30 something. He knows what is right and wrong, but he does nothing.

I was and am afraid to post this, but I want to 1, show and trans readers out there that this is a safe space and that no matter how you identify, you are valid. I also want anyone who is homophobic to just... not read my stories please. I am very much a bisexual and my stories include lgbt characters and couples, so idk why you would read it in the first place. Also, I don't want to not post this in fear of losing reads or followers cause- that is exactly what Tom has done by wanting to "not be controversial"

It comes down to this. If you are cis, it is not your decision what is transphobic. It's your job to listen to these people who are and repost or spread what they're talking about.

Listen to trans people and educate yourself.
