Sun shone through the blinds and I squinted. I did not want to wake up yet. So I turned on my side and smelled the familiar scent of honeydukes and wood. Fred. last night came back to me and I sat up. Fred was still holding me, one arm draped on my waist, but we were laying on the couch.
Hermione was asleep in Rons arms and Harry next to them, third wheeling even in his sleep. George was asleep on the other end of the couch, his feet on Fred. Luna was curled up by the fire, and Ginny was starfished out on the floor, snoring.
I smiled to myself and saw petals on the couch. My hands went to my hair that was in a braid and I smiled even more. Overnight the flowers Luna put in got ruined, but my hair was back. They all knew. And they didn't think I was hideous.
"Mornin'" I heard and George was also sitting up.
"Morning." I replied.
"You're little boyfriend isn't gonna be too happy." He said, motioning to me and Fred. I laughed.
"Please. One, he's not my boyfriend, and two, I'm not his property. Besides, it's not like I see any of you guys like that." I said.
"Well that's good little pot, but Draco is a very jealous person." He said and stood up. He held out a hand for me and I took it, standing up. As soon as I stood he spun me around and I giggled.
"What was that for?" I laughed.
"It's nice to see you like this. Happy. You've been struggling. But now you seem to be doing ok." He said and my eyes started to water.
I have been doing ok, I guess. But not when I'm alone. When I'm alone everything falls apart. But that's not important right now.
"Yeah. I have." I whispered.Soon everyone wakes up and we all decide to get breakfast. Me and Luna had to go back to our rooms though, so we just planned to meet up in the Great Hall.
"I had fun yesterday." Luna said in her dreamy voice.
"Me too." I smile. As we walk through the halls I undo my braid, not wanting the whole school to see. Petals fall onto the ground and it makes me sad. Maybe tomorrow I can have Hermione braid it before classes and get everyone seeing it out of the way.
I walked into the common room in a very good mood, and saw Draco sitting on the couch, but he was the only one in the common room.
"Hey." I said quietly. He turned to me and smiled.
"Hello darling." He said and stood up.
I walked over to him with little patience and let him take me in his warm embrace. We stood there for a while, listening to the crackling fire, and just took in each others presence. His cold hands played with my hair or traced shapes on me. I breathed in his scent of green apple, peppermint, and the forest with a hint of expensive cologne. I matched my breathing to his and felt his heart beating.
"I want to show you something." I whispered after what felt like an eternity.
He pulled away from me and put his hands on my shoulders. "What is it?" He asked.
"I have one too." Was all I said. When he looked at me with a confused expression, I took the hair covering the right portion of my face and pulled it out of my face. His eyes widened at the scar. I mean, who wouldn't. It ran from as far out as the corner of my eye closest to my ear, and started at around the halfway mark of my ear down to my collar bone.
He reached his hand up and traced it lightly with his cold thumb. When he reached my collar bone he took his hand and softly grabbed my chin and tilted my face up. He didn't say anything, and I was a little worried.
Gently, his lips connected with mine, in a sweet, soft kiss. I cupped his face and pulled him closer to me.
"I think it makes you even more breathtakingly beautiful." He whispered against my lips. I smiled and kissed him again.
"Thank you Draco. You don't know how much this meant." I breathed out.I walked into the dinning hall for dinner after a long day of catching up on schoolwork in the common room with Draco and some other Slytherins, and Dumbledore was standing at his podium, like he does when there is an important announcement. I sat down next to Draco and gave him a confused look but he shrugged.
"Students." Dumbledor said and the room fell silent. "This year, Hogwarts will not only be home to you, but others as well. It is tradition for different schools to hold the Triwizard Tournament, and this year we have been chosen. So please give a warm welcome to the ladies of Beauxbatons Academy."
A bunch of graceful girls fluttered inside and the room fell silent. They were all very pretty. Like, really pretty. I started feeling exponentially more insecure and decided that I wasn't going to have dinner tonight. I noticed Draco looking at the girls as well and felt a pang of jealousy. I mean, of course he would be looking at them. They are all so beautiful and happy. Why would he bother with me?
I heard a shriek and was brought out of my head to realize the end of the table was on fire. Oops. Quickly I snapped myself out of my thoughts and the fire vanished.
Draco looked at me and took my hands in his, stroking them. He knew what it was from.
"And also joining us, the boys of Durmstrang Institute." Dumbledore said and fire flew through the hall, but not from me.
A bunch of handsome guys with dark hair burst into the hall. I heard girls literally swooning for them. They were really attractive.
I felt Draco's grip on my hands tighten, and saw his eyes narrow. I scooted a little closer to him and rubbed his hands until they relaxed.
He smiled at me and I smiled back. I didn't need anyone else.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
