Finally, midnight arrived, and Ventus was fast asleep.
You pulled the mask over your face, sliding open the window.
Lucky that we're only on the second floor...

Your hair fluttered in the wind as you dropped into the bushes surrounding the apartment complex.

Your gaze darted down the sidewalks, making sure no one was there.

When you'd confirmed the streets were empty, you took off into the night.

~...~

When you'd reached the abandoned tavern, Shoto was already there, clad in a black hoodie and jeans.
The two of you were practically matching!

You smiled, approaching the bi-colored boy. "Hey, Shoto."

Shoto turned. "Medea. You took some time to get here."

You huffed, running a hand through your hair. "They moved me, so I got kinda lost."

Shoto arched a brow. "Moved you? Where?"

You kicked a pebble. "As much as I'd like to tell you, Ice-man, you know I can't."

He sighed. "Right. Did you want to talk about something?"
You tensed. "N-no. What, can I not meet up with a friend?"

Shoto hummed. "That's a lie, Medea. You tend to stutter when you lie."
You frowned under your mask. Note to self; stop doing that.

"Fine. Yeah, I did, but I'm just worried that-"

"That I'll view you differently?" Shoto finished.
You paused, chuckling. "You know, sometimes I wonder if you're also a mind reader."

"That won't happen, Medea. I mean, you've done so much for me. You helped me get away from my father, you pranked him with me," Shoto smiled a bit when he said that, "You... you became my friend."

You were shocked, really.
Stunned into silence.
Frozen at his words.
Moved by his honesty.
Tell him the truth, a distant voice whispered.

"Medea?" Shoto called, shaking you out of your thoughts.

"Oh." You whispered.
"Shoto, I-" Your voice cracked, and you reached up, fiddling with the straps of your mask.

Shoto furrowed his brows in concern. "Medea-"

"That's not- That's not my name!" You blurted before you could stop yourself.

"What?" Shoto breathed. "But you said-"

"I know what I said!" You gasped out. "And I lied." You loosened the straps of your mask a little more.
"I lied, and I want to tell you the truth."
And more.
"Because... I trust you, Shoto. So... So-"
Once more.
And it fell.

"This is the real me."
Strands of your h/c hair fell over your glassy eyes.

Shoto's breath caught. "You... did you really just...?"
He seemed at a loss for words, and you let out a watery laugh.
"Yeah." You shrugged, brushing your hair behind your ears. "I guess I did."

Shoto gaped. "But... why?"

You inhaled shakily. "Like I said, I trust you. And I can't... I can't hide anything from you anymore." You stared up at him.
A friend, you could call him now.

~...~

"So... what you're saying is... your real name is Y/N Midoriya... your father took you from your home when you were younger and forced you to become his successor... and now he's forcing you to attend UA to gather information for the sake of their villain organization?"

You nodded slowly, yawning. "Unfortunately."

"Are you tired? You can lay your head on my shoulder and rest for a bit." Shoto offered.

"I shouldn't..." You mumbled, although your actions contradicted your words, and your forehead slid atop Shoto's shoulder.

You could hear the beating of his heart, though it beat faster than any average human.
However, in this moment, you couldn't care less.

Because, this boy, the boy who genuinely seemed to care for you, you trusted.
His touch didn't make you feel as if death warmed over.
And perhaps you hadn't realized it yet, but you'd fallen for him too.
And him, you.

~...~

You awoke hours later, when Shoto shook your shoulder lightly.
"Y/N."

You hummed, stretching your arms. "What time is it?"

"Around 6 am. Don't you need to be returning by now?"

That shook you out of your daze. "Oh shit, you're right!" You scrambled to your feet, grabbing your mask. "Uh- I gotta go. I'll see you around! Bye Ice-man!" And with that, you ran off.

~...~

When you finally reached the apartment complex, the sun was beginning to rise. You huffed, using the wedges in the building to clamber up to your window.

You slowly slid it open, stepping into your room.
It was quiet.

You breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh thank god, he's still asleep."

~...~

Finally, the letter from UA arrived a week later.
You knew that you'd gotten in, but you'd nearly had a panic attack simply from the thought of infiltrating the top hero school for something so horrible.

You swallowed, opening the letter.

There was a small black disk inside.
You pulled it out, examining the contraption.
"Maybe it's some type of-"

The disk lit up and projected a screen with All Might, causing you to yelp and almost drop the disk.
"Oh my god, I'm going to have a heart attack before I can even get inside the school." You mumbled, shaking your head as you placed the disk on your desk.
"Booyah, I am here as a projection!"

Huh. Interesting. Guess he's a teacher at UA. No wonder that bastard sent me to the school.

"Good Evening, Young Mikumo! I'll get straight to the point. You passed the UA entrance exam with flying colors! Not only did you receive 77 points for defeating the combat robots, but you also received 15 rescue points for your bravery and kindness! With your total, you made it into the first place slot of our exams!"

You exhaled shakily, clenching your fists.
"This is your hero academia!"
