if chaos is a work of art,
then her heart is a masterpiece
THE RAIN FLOATED DOWN IN GENTLE WAVES; gravity's soft music dedicated to the earth, a sweet beckoning serenade. Each drop bequeathed itself onto the cooling air, painting the world in a tranquil scene, giving life to the plants in hopes of them blossoming come April.Light waltzed into the open window, accompanied by the budding spring breeze. They took in the image: five soulmates relaxing harmoniously together. The eldest laid on the couch, a book cradled in her hand. Her lips parted, mind processing the words and implementing her imagination, changing her surroundings to the world produced by black and white words. Sat on large grey beanbag was the youngest two, cuddled together, one with his electronic device in his hand and the other with his notebook, going over the notes he wrote. The tallest of the bunch exited the kitchen, a large bowl of crisps in his hands. He handed it over to the second oldest lounging on the love seat diagonal to the couch.
"Thanks, babe!" Bokuto exclaimed, perking up at the food. He grabbed a handful, stuffing his face.
"Bokuto-san, you're going to choke if you eat that fast," warned Akaashi, glancing up from his notebook. "Slow down."
"Hai, hai!"
"Do we have any chocolate?" Kenma asked, not even bothering to glance up from his game.
"There's some in my bag," Mizuki answered, flipping a page.
Kuroo walked over to the table, grabbing her school bag. "Why do you have some in your bag?" he questioned, unzipping the top. She had come straight from school, taking the train to Tokyo since her aunt was also in the city. Kuroo's eyes widened when he saw the various boxes. "Why do you have these? Who gave them to you?"
"A couple of my classmates."
He literally dumped the contents onto the floor, several heart-shaped and neatly wrapped boxes falling out.
The others looked up in shock. "For Valentines Day?"
Mizuki nodded, remembering the gratitude she felt when random students popped into her class to give her the chocolates. She had to let them down gently, telling them she had her soulmates, but they waved it off and told her they knew. They still wanted to give their crush chocolates, half of them hoping she'd dump her boyfriends for them, but they knew it was a fruitless fantasy.
"How many did you get?"
"I didn't count," she replied, eyes absorbing the inked words. "A few, I think."
"There's at least twenty here!"
"Oh. Cool."
Akaashi shook his head. "Your nonchalant attitude will always surprise me."
"What do you mean?" she asked, lowering her book. "If you're referring to the intentions behind the sweets, I know. I told them I couldn't accept more than the chocolates. Besides, everyone knows I'm taken."
