-Spark-

We tumble out of the portal and land as a compressed pile of limbs, grunting I push myself away from Caleb, pulling myself to my feet. I look down at the once gorgoues dress, now tattered, muddy and stained, I look like Cinderella before the ball, before Prince Charming...Prince Charming...my Prince Charming...Coal. How could Ember thing I was stealing him!

Admit it, that's exactly what you were trying to do.

Okay...maybe I was trying to do that but it's only fair, right?

Of course it is. She's always had more than you, you deserve this.

You're right, I do. Wait...even if that's true we're too different, and then there's Ember...

Don't worry, it's an easy fix. Kill of Ember and Lucifer, then all Hell's people will be yours. Including Coal.

What is he...dies in battle?

Make sure he doesn't.

How?

...

Great, now I'm talking to myself and I answer. I'm probably going crazy.

You and me both.

Brushing away that thought from my present mind, I come to realize Caleb is still sprawled out on the ground, softly moaning to himself.

"Come on Caleb." I clap. "Get up! You're fine."

My only response is another soft gurgling sound.

"Okay, I'm sorry. Please get up." I comfort him as if he is an infant.

This time I don't get a response. Slowly tapping his shoulder-although I'm not sure what good that'll do-I get somewhat of a reps ones, confirming he isn't dead.

"You really did that didn't you?" His breath short and quick.

"Did what?" My throat thick and dry.

"You really fell in love with him." Tension in the air thickens, gagging me. Promising to take me somewhere dark and solitary.

"Come on, we better get you back to the city." I avoid his gaze, and we walk in an eerie silence, so loud it's deafening.

Finally coming into the city grounds by the warrior housing, I expected to hear the clash of metal and slam of fists...instead we are met with nothing.

It's bright and early in the morning, usually they're up by now...usually. Caleb stalks forward, anger taking him over, pushing him into foolishness.

"Caleb!" His feet carrying him a lot faster than I would've thought imaginable, racing to keep up with him...wait I don't need to race. Why race when I can fly?

Summoning my strength and the gift I hold sacred, I'm enveloped in a golden light glow, transforming into the being I was destined to be.

Caleb looks at me, astounded. Taking a few steps forward I bend my knees then jump up and take off, without ever looking back.

That's how my life should be. Just jumping taking risks flying away, never looking back to see what-or who- I left in the dust.

Everyone spends their lives looking for a sign that tells them what their true purpose is. The problem is, you can't over analyze something that couldn't be a sigh at all. The only way to find your true meaning and to see that acclaimed sign is to jump. Live your life one decision at a time. You can't let people drag you down, you are you, no matter what they say. Live for the moment, not the future.

Slowly coming to land in front of the main building, I walk inside, wings and all.

I expected only to see a few soldiers and scholars scattering the main entrance. Instead I'm met with the whole army. They crowd the room, filling it wall to wall, some even flying above the crowd.

As soon as the front door shuts behind me, all heads turn and I am their focus.

Okay I need to say something smart and bold. My mind of course, comes out blank. Then...

"Princess Spark!" Dalton yells from the other side of the room, before he quickly makes his way to me, shoving past warriors and officers. As soon as he reaches me I'm closed into his warm embrace. He's been a father to me, more so then my biological one. "You're back!"

"Hi Dalton, it's great to see you." I whisper. Wrapping my arms around him.

After a few moments we part and I'm left again to face the warriors of Heaven.

"Yes, I am back. Now I would give you a speech long and powerful but I have merely a few simple words." I scan the audience, resting my eyes on Michael, my father. "Some of you have questioned my loyalty. Some even my true nature. I am here to end those rumours. I am Spark, daughter of Michael and sister to the alleged Ember. I have been reluctant to your intentions of death to her in the past. I am here, refreshed on my knowledge and ready to fight. I stand before you and ask if you to follow me into battle, ending this feud once and for all."

At first, there is only silence. Then a sudden uproar of cheers, vibrating the walls and floor. I look across the room at every face, coming back to rest on Michael, who looks on approvingly. Standing taller and prouder than. I ever have before I lead the warriors off to the field houses. Ready to emirs myself in their life style, to strengthen not only my body, but my soul.

You would think that the excitement would drive the warriors to an anxious silence but, it's bustling with activity.

Soon we reach the field houses and warrior grounds. The left and right flanks of our march branch off to the surrounding practice rooms, while the rest go on to equipment repair.

I opt to follow the right flank that was headed towards the gymnasium, littered with trampolines, balance beams, mats and more.

Everyone has a set skill they're good at, so in order to expand their skill they avoid that station. Since I'm unaware of any skills I may posses I head towards the mats.

For the first while I just watch as warriors wrestle and preform flips and twirls during a sword battle. I pass up the chance to go multiple times. Mainly out of fear, but bad luck gets me and I'm pushed onto the mat.
