-Spark-
We decide to go to the coffee shop down the street called Herringdales's Brew, conveniently owned by Mrs. Herringdale, scoring us all jobs for the year and not to mention cheap prices.
We walk down the old cobbled street, the old styled street lamps, houses and shops, making us feel as if we've gone back in time. The coffee shop is painted butterscotch yellow, with white trim around the large widow, allowing us to get a great view of everything inside the building. We push open the door and the little gold bell placed at the top ringing as we do, Ember and I rush over to the display case looking over the freshly baked cookies, brownies and cupcakes. Ember and I order the same thing as usual, a cup of hot chocolate and a triple fudge brownie. Caleb gets his trademark coffee and cinnamon cookie. We settle at the table right in front of the window, giving us a great view of our old town.
The road we're on is called Cloverton Avenue, ironically placed in the heart of Cloverton. Our discussion is of the usual stuff, school, hobbies, future plans, we talk about this for a while and the whole time I watch Caleb giving Ember side glances, staring at her for a few seconds at a time and then looking away as she pretends not to notice.
He's sitting in the perfect spot so that his blond hair is reflecting the suns light as it falls down into his slate grey coloured eyes, he has porcelain white skin, that combined with his slender toned body and the two inches he has on us only adds to his appeal. Noticing how the conversation has come to a screeching halt I distract Caleb by talking about our newest art assignment, as I watch out of the corner of my eye, and see Ember staring blankly at her brownie.
The day seemed to get colder from when we were in the coffee shop. I pull my arms around me for warmth in a child like gesture and turn to see Ember and Caleb doing the same thing.
We decide to head down to Four Leaf Park, there's the autumn fair going on and we haven't been yet. You can smell the fair before you see it, the corn dogs, funnel cakes and cotton candy. Ember and I look at each other clearly both having the same thought, our mom brought us here every year since we were six years old, we would play for hours, going on rides and running around. The fair starts to come into view and Ember looks at me with a huge grin on her face, we were clearly thinking the same thing again...Ferris wheel.
We practically run to the Ferris wheel and make it just in time to hop into an orange coloured, umbrella shaped section, the ride starts and the view takes my breath away.
The cobbled streets running in every direction, the old houses and shops placed by the road. Most importantly the forests, the scattering of trees, their leaves swaying with the breeze, the clovers littering the ground in patches. Lucky River separates the forest, into the North half and the South half, people say it's the best place to find four leaf clovers, but I think that's just to bring people to our small town.
The wind seems to have intensified and my hair is being blown in my face and Caleb's, who is sitting beside me. He sputters and pushes me away with a laugh, I smile and slide closer to Ember who's hair is doing the exact same thing, so when we sit together we look like a swirl of raven black curls and matching outfits.
"You guys look so cute!" He exclaims, pulling out his old vintage camera and taking pictures. My hair parts slightly allowing me to see the look of shock that crosses Embers face that is quickly replaced by anger and jealousy...
