Admiral Hael Bantaas, Admiral Kima Veeren, Admiral Roc Fioris, and Lynaxa, the Legion leader, were in a meeting, discussing their next move. "The Alliance is weakened. I say we attack now" said Admiral Bantaas. "I agree. The defeat of one of their strongest fleets is an indicator" said Admiral Veeren. "We may have won the battle, but, their fleet at Vanraael is still powerful and well equipped, and their bases on Alveor, Kyrama and Lok Etreon are very well fortified. One wrong move and they will retake the Jorna Octagon, and when they do, there will be very little we can do to stop them. I say we fight a defensive war, and rely on the weapons of the Jorna Octagon. We can not attack them just yet. No. We have to defend this battle station" Admiral Fioris interjected.
"What say you, mistress?" asked Admiral Bantaas. "I agree with Admiral Fioris. However, it is possible that with their combined might, they will defeat us here and retake the station" Lynaxa replied. "That matters not. While they amass their power, we shall destroy their bases on Kyrama, Lok Etreon and Alveor, and then do the same to Vanraael. Besides, we have a fleet at Ilmaer, Ykamas and Laxis. If they attack us, we can bring them in and pin them. Attacking us is too risky for them. That means, we don't have to fear any retaliatory strikes from them for now. I recommend we attack now" said Admiral Veeren. "Alright. I do believe Admiral Fioris's plan is more effective. But then we have to concentrate all our firepower here" said Lynaxa after pondering her words. "As you wish" Veeren replied.
The Alliance High Command, along with Lorya, Akala, Judeor and four other Altiris Knights sat in their own council meeting. "We can not hope to break through their defenses. Their fleet is far too powerful. And within hours, they will fire at us again. Kyrama, Lok Etreon, Alveor and Vanraael are all fair game now that they have the Jorna Octagon. We might as well surrender now" said one of the officers.
"No. If we surrender, we shall be forced to serve them, and that's far from the best for our people. They will turn us into slaves. No. We must attack" countered another. "And while we do that, they will fire at us, and destroy all of our bases, and after that, our fleet" said a third. "They shall fire at us anyway. We might as well cause some damage before we go down" said the second officer.
A few others shut her down, and soon, insults and jeers were thrown around, until mayhem inevitably ensued. "Ladies and gentlemen, please, this is not the time for chaos! Please, calm down!" called Admiral Virsol. None listened to him. He glanced at Judeor. The Altiris Knight nodded, and lightning filled the room, as the council members and officers slowly quieted down and got back to their seats.
"I agree with Captain Kollves. We have to attack. We shall attack their fleet with all of our firepower" said Judeor. "Their fleet is too powerful for that to succeed" said the first officer. "Which is why the attack shall only be a distraction. We shall send in an infiltration team that, with luck, should be able to point the guns on Jorna Octagon away from our worlds before they have a chance to fire on them" Judeor continued, raising his voice.
The High Command fell silent, contemplating his suggestion. "It is risky, as all things are, but it's our best shot at surviving this war" said Admiral Zalor. "Well, with or without your approval, I shall lead a strike team there, and you all might as well come in and help us out" said Judeor. "Alright. But we need to call in our fleet at Akalos. That planet is not important as of now" the admiral said. "Alright, people. Load on the ships, and prepare for battle" ordered Grand Admiral Gaerval, as the High Command emptied the room and headed for the ships.
