It was a nice calm morning at the S.S. Marine Hospital. The dolphins were having fun swimming around their pools, the otters were having cuddle parties, the turtles are happily eating their lettuce and kelp, and three beautiful mermen were enjoying a nice swim in the lagoon.

One was named Patton, he had a light blue trail which faded to grey at the tips of the fins and tail. He had a grey fin around his shoulders that kinda looked like a shall. He was always cheerful and caring around others, he'd do anything to make his pod happy.

Another was called Janus, strange name for a male but he liked it. He had a black eel like tail that had faded yellow fins on the top and bottom of the tail. His entire right side of his face was scarred like he was burned, the same thing on his right arm and hand. He would always talk in a sarcastic way and lie at random times. No one really knew why but they also never asked because he would always change the subject.

Last but not least was Roman, he was a red merman with faded white manta fins on the sides of his tail and on his arms. He had gold spots in random places that looked like freckles. He was always prideful on what he liked, he didn't even bother of he randomly started to act or sing some Disney songs. He didn't care what the others thought about it, he even called himself a prince of disney and musicals.

The place was run by two amazing people who have rescued, cared and released fascinating creatures. Their names were Thomas Sanders, and Logan Spears. Logan was the main doctor and Thomas was the assistant who also cleaned the pools and bathed the creatures while Logan either payed taxes, or studied knew ways of medicine.

That morning, around ten o'clock, Roman heard a some frantic splashing. Roman turned around to face the door way between the lagoon and the ocean. He saw water splashing around in one spot and saw a blue light flashing beside it. He remembered what Logan once told him, if that light flashes blue, that means something was caught in the net. He looked at Janus and Patton, "Janus, get Patton inside and call Logan over to the shore."

Janus looked at him a bit curious, he saw the splashing behind him and nodded taking Patton to their pool, before going to get Logan.

Roman quickly swam over to the splashing and saw a pale merman who had a black tail with purple faded into the fins. The merman was really small, he looked to be in his teens but the grade in his fins show he was the same age he was.

The merman spotted Roman through the bubbles and tried to get free so he could swim away frantically. The panicked merman only got the net wrapped around his neck. The merman squeaked in fear and stress as it was getting hard for him to breath.

Roman put his hands up going through the bubbles to try to help him, "Hey, calm down, it's okay. I'm gonna help you get out." He reached for the net but the merman just struggled more. He was too stressed and scared to even think. Roman put his hands on his arms, "Hey! I'm gonna get you out of there, but I can't do that if you're moving around like a fish jumping around trying to get back into the water for air!"

The merman spotted squirming but he was almost ready to pass out gasping for air. He tried to make one last attempt but it did nothing as he passed out from being choked.

Roman grew extremely worried and quickly untied him, "This is a safety net, it's supposed to keep the creatures from escaping, not hurting them." He soon got him out of the net and took him into his arms.

The merman didn't move for one second, he had cuts around his whole body from the net. He was wheezing trying to get some air but couldn't. He was very weak from the struggle, he couldn't even stay awake.

Roman quickly swam inside, "Hold on, it's okay, I'm here. Hold on." He went inside and saw Logan waiting for them with a kit on the ramp. He swam over and gently set him down, "The new safety net did this, he got scared and it wrapped around his neck."

Logan quicky checked his paulse, there was something there, but he wasn't breathing. He tried to do CPR on him, "Come on, come on." He tilted his head back and breathed into his mouth. He did it again and finally the mer gasped.

Roman sighed in relief, "Thank goodness."

Logan looked at him then looked at the mer laying in front of him, "Strange."

Roman looked at him, "What? Will he be okay? Please tell me he'll be okay!"

Logan put a hand up to calm him, "Easy Roman, he'll be fine. What I thought was strange was that, this is a deep see mer."

Roman looked at the sleeping mer, "So... If he's a deep see mer, why is he up here?"

Logan shrugged, "I'm not certain, but on his small he is, he could be in his teens, but the fade in his fins says he's about twenty five."

Roman grew worried, "He hasn't eaten, this could mean that his food supply ran out or-"

"Someone may have abused him. But I don't see any marks for abuse so we can scratch that off the list of possibilities." Logan looked at Roman.

Roman sighed in relief, "Thank goodness. We should let him get some rest, where do you want him?"

Logan thought about it, "Pod C. We don't know what he's like yet so we need him in the safest place possible." He looked up at a tower in the middle of the hospital and signed Thomas to make it dark in pod C but light enough where that can see.

Thomas signed with a flash light to show her got the message as Logan nodded, "Go ahead and take him there, but be careful."

Roman nodded and took the deep sea mer into the water to use the tunnels Logan had made for him and his friends, and possibly more mers to come. Once in pod C, he set the mer on the sea bed and curled up around him, "It's okay, it's alright."

With Janus and Patton:

Janus was curious on who or what was caught in the net but he needed to stay with Patton. He saw Logan stand on the plat form and swam up with Patton, "Hey Logan."

Logan sat down, "Hey, everyone okay here?"

Patton nodded, "Yep!" He said with a little giggle.

Janus nodded, "Any news?"

Logan nodded, "We have a new mer in the hospital. He's a deep sea mer."

Patton grew worried, "A deep sea mer? What's he doing all the way up here?"

Logan shrugged, "I don't know, but we'll figure it out when he wakes up. When he died wake up, I need you to keep your distance from him, we don't know if he is dangerous."

Janus sighed, "/Love/ to see that."

Patton put Janus's fore head onto his own with a smile, "Hey, it's okay, don't worry." He swam up to Logan and put their heads together. Even though Logan was a human, Patton still counted him as a part of his pod.
