It's been two days and Roman was getting nervous, the deep sea mer hasn't woken up yet. He stayed right beside him all day, and all night. He could leave him alone worried he'll thing he's been kidnapped and panic.

There was a soft grown coming from behind Roman. Roman turned around and saw the deep sea mer starting to stir.

The mer rolled to face him and slowly opened his eyes. He looked at Roman and sat up quickly backing away from him.

Roman gently took his arms, "Hey, it's okay, calm down. Please, you need to la-"

The mer tried to get free from his grip and gave out a deafening screech. He broke out of his grip and quickly swam around frantically trying to find a way out.

Roman covered his ears in pain, "Ow!! Just burst my ear drums why don't you!!?" The screech was painfully heard all the way to the other side of the building. Logan, Thomas, Janus and Patton had to cover their ears. Patton was affected more because of his past experiences with loud noises. Thomas and Logan ran over to pod C to figure out what happened. On the way, Logan grabbed earplugs for him, Thomas, and Roman.

Roman groaned, "That's gonna create a headache that I don't want to handle." He rubbed his ears a bit then looked at the mer, "Please calm down, I know how you feel, it's okay. We're not going to hurt you."

The mer curled into a tight ball in the corner at the bottom of the pool. He was shaking and breathing heavily.

Roman sat down on the sea bed looking at him keeping a good amount of space for him, "It's okay, like I said, we're not going to hurt you." He started to demonstrate deep breaths to the mer, "Just breath, in... And out..." He continued to do so seeing the mer copying him. Roman nodded, "That's it, nice and easy, I'm not here to hurt you. If I was going to hurt you, do you think I'd be this far away from you?"

The mer looked at the distance and took another deep breath slowly uncurling. He slowly moved his way to Roman cautiously.

Roman smiled as he started in one place, "That's it, you see? We were just like you when we came here."

The mer got closer then heard heavy footsteps. He quickly curled back up in the corner.

Logan and Thomas had ran over and Logan knelt down to look into the dark water, "Roman? Are you in there?"

Roman heard them then looked at the mer, "I'm gonna be right back, please just relax." He swam up to the surface and put a finger to his lips looking at them, "Sshhhh, he's really scared, so keep your choices down please."

Logan sighed in relief, "Thank goodness you both are okay."

Roman looked at him and crossed his arms, "And you kinda left out the part where they have a deafening scream."

Logan nodded, "I know, I'm sorry. We should get him something to eat, could you ask him if he has a curtain diet?"

Roman nodded and swam down keeping his distance, "Hey, it's just me."

The mer looked at him staying curled up and looked at the other two that were at the surface.

Roman put his hands up, "I promise you, they're not here to hurt you. They just want to know what you prefer to eat."

The mer shook his head looking at him. He looked around trying to find a way out.

The doors opened and Patton was swim in but the mer quicky swam out but the door had slammed onto his tail. He screamed in his very high pitch screech. The more he tugged, his tail had started to rip.

Roman had to be picked up by Logan to get into the hall the mer was was trapped in. Logan gently dropped him into the water as he swam over to the mer, "Hey, it's me, calm down, we're gonna get you out. You have to calm down for us to help."

Logan looked at Thomas, "Thomas, get Patton out of there and close the hallway doors." Thomas nodded and jogged carefully around to do so.

Logan looked at Roman, "Roman keep him calm, once the door opens, I need to to get him on the platform."

Roman gently took his hands, "You need to stop, you will ruin your tail and you'll have to stay here to stay alive."

The mer teared up, "I-I just want to g-go back home to my s-sister!"

Roman felt terrible seeing him like this, and knowing the fact he wanted to go home just broke his heart, "Okay, we'll get you home. But right now, you have to trust us."

The mer looked at him and sniffled as tears went doing his face, "P-promise?"

Roman nodded and put him in his arms as the door opened. He quickly swam back inside the pod and gently placed him on the platform.

The mer held onto Roman scared for his live.

Roman held him and rubbed his back seeing Logan run over with a kit looking at his tail. Logan looked at Thomas who was running back from the control room, "Thomas, we need you to keep him wet, and get the anesthetics."

Thomas nodded getting the supplies, "Alright Logan." He grabbed a house to gently spray him and a gas tank with a mask. He ran over next to the mer's head showing him the mask, "Don't be afraid, this will put you to sleep, it won't harm you."

The mer held onto Roman tighter looking away from Thomas which made it difficult to put on the mask.

Roman put a hand on his cheek, "Ssshhhh, it's okay, they're not going to hurt you, I promise. Would you like me to put it on you?"

The mer was hesitant but nodded slightly.

Thomas have Roman the mask and he carefully put it on the mer, "Take deep breaths, it's gonna be okay."

Thomas started to give him the anesthetics, "It'll take a few seconds to take affect."

The mer looked already tired but he tried to fight, "V-virgil..."

Roman ran his fingers through his hair, "Is that your name?" He smiled seeing a small nod, "That's beautiful, I'm Roman."

Virgil took a deep breath then his body went limp slowly falling asleep.

Roman stayed close to him thinking about what he said in the hall, "I hope everything is okay at his place."
