«Remember when your parents went out of town?
They were dumb enough to leave us with the house»

The next day at school was pretty chill, except for three things.
I mean, with my standards, I could consider it my lucky day if only three important things happened.
Michael had called me at 5:30 a.m. because he was too excited to wait. His wings had come back during the night, and they were red this time. I could hear him laughing from the other side of the phone and I didn't manage to stay mad at him for calling me at that hour for more than a minute.
Then I talked to the girls. Yup, in the bathroom again. Hey, it was a quiet spot.
I told them everything Ash and I had talked about - KayKay was very disappointed when I told her that we had just talked.
"Really? He let you go?" she commented, arching a brow. "Is he dumb?"
I smiled, shaking my head. "No, Kay. He just realized that it's the best thing we can do. We could never be together if he feels that way about Calum and if I still need to figure things out with Michael. He said the right words yesterday. 'You'll be my what if'. He's not stupid. He knows it's a big decision to make."
"And he just did what his heart told him to do" Crystal added.
"He told me he'll ask Cal to go to his place today. To study" I said, drawing quotation marks in the air.
Sierra grinned. "Really? He'll make a move?"
I nodded. "I need to help him calm down, I have a class with him now. See you later, girls!"
"Wish Ash good luck for us!" Sierra smiled, waving.

I had two hours in a row with Mrs. Black. The first one was Biology, in which I had to try to convince Ash to go through with his plan to ask Cal out.
The second hour was dedicated to Chemistry, and the teacher said she had something in mind for these fun weeks.
"I have been looking for this book everywhere!" she smiled, letting it fall on my desk. The dust made Michael cough.
"It's not science - related. Not completely, at least. I read this book while studying here, when I was your age. It's about magic and potions!"
Mikey shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He muttered something about magic being bad and then he looked at me.
"Now, I don't think this will work because you're not professionals, but making potions will be a fun activity for this week, and it's also similar to chemistry!" explained Mrs. Black. "Pair up, people. The maximum number of people per group is three. I'll choose the potion each group is going to create, so tell me when the group is complete so that we can get to work!"
I immediately looked at my red-headed friend, who was looking right back at me. He smiled and nodded.
I smiled back and raised my hand to show Mrs. Black that the group was formed. I knew Cal and Luke would stay together.
She walked over to our desk and handed us a piece of paper. "This potion is very interesting, I think" she smiled. "It's a love potion. I bet you'll have fun making this one!" she explained, looking at us with a playful glint in her eyes. "Be careful with the fumes. They can produce weird effects, especially on boys!"
I shrugged and took the piece of paper, trying to ignore Michael's blush.
The sheet was painfully pink, full of ornaments and glitter. I could've sworn it was also scented, but i didn't want to know.
"So" I sighed, looking up at my friend and waving the sheet around. "This says we need... water, rose petals, gold, some other weird stuff and..."
My breath caught in my throat.
"...And?" asked Mikey. "Lils, what happened?"
"Michael, we need feathers. Possibly... from an Angel's right wing."
He stopped moving for a second. He sat so still that I thought he had stopped breathing for a good minute.
"Okay, casualties happen, but this is too much" he said after a while, shaking his head. "How many times have you been asked questions about angels?"
"Way too many."
"Told you. I'm sure they can't see my wings, though. I mean... Except for Mr. Collins, they should be humans."
"So why...?"
"I don't know, Lils" he sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Let's just focus on this... thing, for now. We'll talk about this later."
