«Even when the sky is falling down
Even when the Earth is crumbling around my feet
Even when we try say goodbye
You can cut the tension with a knife in here
'Cause I know what will happen
If we get through this
And if the earth ends up crumbling down to its knees then baby
We just gotta get out, we just gotta get out
And if the skyscrapers tumble down and crash around baby
We just gotta get out, we just gotta get out»

The next day at school was way too calm. Mr. Collins and Mrs. Black weren't at work, and the fun activities for the special weeks made the day seem a bit less boring.
The worry didn't seem to be able to leave our minds though. Except for Sierra, Luke, Kay and Crystal, who couldn't stop smiling - apparently their dates had ended well -, Michael, our friends and I didn't talk about anything but our biggest problem, trying to find a solution or at least to reassure Michael that everything would've been fine.
Nobody actually believed that.
At the end of our school day we were all heading out, because we had decided to go get an ice cream together that afternoon. If the world was about to end, we wanted to have a bit of fun - or, to use Louis' wise words, "Fuck your homework. You'll never really need it."
We were trying to talk and joke around to distract ourselves when I noticed a familiar figure running towards us. Michael had seen her too. "Liv! What are you doing here?"
"I needed to see you. I found..." she hesitated, trying to catch her breath. Niall put a hand on her shoulder. "Breathe."
She nodded. "I'm trying. I found something that could help us."
Kay smiled. "Come with us then. We're going to talk about it over a nice ice cream."

"So, Liv" Crystal started, holding her ice cream cone in one hand and Kay's arm with the other. "What did you want to tell us?"
The blonde girl sighed. "It's quite a lot of stuff. First of all, I found out that your teacher can't start the Apocalypse, at least not on his own."
I sighed in relief. "So we're safe?"
Liv shook her head. "Sadly, we're not. There's some kind of prophecy about this. I wrote it down here" she said, passing me a red notebook, already open. On the white page, written in neat calligraphy, some sentences were visible. Michael looked over my shoulder to read with me.
"Angels will be humans
And the world will be in ruins
When the one who was hurt
Will meet a lonely heart" he said, reading out loud.
"I don't get it" Ash commented.
"Yeah, same" Luke protested. "Who should 'the one who was hurt' be? Everybody has been hurt in some way, at some point."
Liv shrugged. "I'm not sure, to be honest. I found this in a library a while ago, and on the same page there were some notes. They were written in pencil, I still remember that detail. Someone had thought about this. They had come to the conclusion that 'the one who was hurt' had to be an Angel. I don't know how they could be so sure, but they had also written something about... About a relationship between this Angel and a human, resulting in a kid. I don't know. And oh, wait, there's something else" she added, as I was about to reply. "Suicide. It had something to do with that, according to these notes. Maybe the prophecy meant 'the one who was hurt'... enough to end their own life. It's complicated."
I looked up at Michael, who was already looking at me. "We're in trouble" I whispered. He nodded. "Definitely. It could be about Mr. Collins, maybe, because we know nothing about his private life, but..." he explained, noticing our friends' questioning stares. Not everyone at that table knew about the cause of my almost-death, and why we were there. "...Or it could be about me and Lils. Which means that we need to find out everything about Mr. Collins."
I thought about it for a second, while the sound of our friends' surprised reaction faded in the background. Mr. Collins was alone, while we were fourteen people. And we all had special powers. With a little bit of strategy...
"I have a plan. We're all going to my house."

"Mum!" I called, opening the door.
"Hey, Lils- Oh, hi guys!" she smiled, noticing my friends following me. "Wow, I didn't realize you were so many. Why are you all here?"
"We have a big, big problem" I explained, and I continued talking before she could interrupt me. "No, mum, I can't tell you what it is. You'd get worried and accidentally get us and yourself in even more trouble. We're adults, Amy. I'm turning 21 in like a week and three days. I'll be fine."
She sighed. "Okay, okay, you're right. But if you need anything..."
I smiled. "I won't hesitate to tell you."
She nodded. "Perfect. Are you guys going upstairs? Do you want anything, like water or snacks?"
"Cookies. Cookies would be nice" Niall replied.
"I'll be in the kitchen, then!" mum smiled. "Have fun, you guys."
