«I hope you think of me high
I hope you think of me highly
[...]
I know I'll never meet your expectations
But the picture that you paint of me looks better in your mind»

"Oh, dear, no, not like that" mum sighed for the hundredth time. Luke just couldn't concentrate, which meant that he had been trying to move a napkin from the table for almost an hour now. I could feel that he was about to cry, but he still didn't want to give up.
"Then how? I'm trying!"
"You should take a break, Lu," Ash suggested. "You're running out of energy."
"Have a cookie and a glass of water, then you'll try again if you want" Niall said, handing him the plate from… Well, from the other side of the room. Luke sighed and took a cookie, the smallest one. "I'm sorry, guys, I'm just… I can't do anything right. Every time I try to do something it goes wrong."
"At least you have powers" Calum complained. "You could at least try to do something useful. While I'm just here for… moral support, I guess. I'm more of a burden, actually, but…"
"None of you is a burden" Michael snapped. "Shut up. Try again, Luke."
I slapped his arm. "He meant that you're all important to us and that we want you by our side right now."
"Okay, okay, I get it. I'll try again" Luke said. "But if in half an hour I still haven't moved this stupid piece of paper I'm giving up."
"Come on, you can do this," Sierra smiled. "We all believe in you."
He sighed and looked back down at the napkin, trying to concentrate once again. Judging from his thoughts, Sierra's words had given him a little bit of extra confidence - or at least they made him want to try again and not fail.
A few seconds later the piece of paper was hovering a few centimeters over his head.
"Finally!" he exclaimed, beaming. He probably got too excited, because the wind wasn't strong enough and the napkin fell.
Michael put a hand on his shoulder. "Good job, Luke! See, you just needed a break."
Amy nodded. "Everybody needs a break every once in a while. You guys can go play videogames upstairs, in Lily's room, while I talk to her for a second, okay?" she smiled. I could still tell that she was worried. "Michael, could you stay here too? It's important."

"Are you sure you can do this by yourselves? I don't even know what the problem is, but… it seems like something important. Too much for seventeen year-olds."
"Mum, I'm twenty."
She shrugged. "You're still young."
"You're not much older than her, Amy" Michael chuckled. "You're only thirty-six."
"That's not the point. What's going on? Is Mr. Collins involved?"
I looked at Michael, and he just nodded.
"You weren't wrong when you said it was something important" I started. "It's… It's about me and Michael. And it could affect the whole world."
She listened to everything Michael and I had to say, then she nodded. "Well, thanks for telling me. I could get the police involved if you want me to - I should get the police involved, actually, but with Michael's… situation, it wouldn't help."
"I'd probably get arrested. Or downgraded" he agreed. "What I did to save Lily isn't legal."
"Then our best option is doing this by ourselves" she sighed. "It's not going to be easy."

Third person's P.O.V. again because I'm running out of ideas

Sierra didn't expect Luke to take her out for an ice cream to celebrate his little progress, but she certainly wasn't complaining.
They were currently sitting at a table, outside, and Luke was making a mess while trying to avoid staining his shirt with ice cream.
The girl chuckled. "What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to eat. Key word is trying," he smiled. "I don't know, I can't do anything. I always make a mess."
"Shut up. You actually did something right today."
The boy shrugged. "Yeah, I asked you out."
"I was talking about your powers, but yeah" Sierra said. "That works too."
"I'm probably going to make a mess again," he sighed. "Listen, do you… want to be my- Oh, come on!" he snapped, looking down at his black shirt that now had a big pink stain on it.
Sierra laughed, and she only stopped after a while to catch her breath.
"As I was saying… I don't really look good enough for this, but it's okay" Luke started. "Do you want to be my girlfriend? Like, I know it's probably too early and all, but…"
"Yeah, I do" the girl whispered, interrupting him.
Luke blinked once or twice, not believing what he had heard. "Really?"
Sierra just nodded, smiling.
