"Mishaps and Solutions"

Neither Richie nor (Y/n) said anything about the night before, even if both of them were thinking about it nonstop. Richie usually didn't do serious relationships, which made him worry about not being good enough for the girl he so adored. He would never forgive himself for hurting her, accident or not.

(Y/n), on the other hand, was still conflicted. Sure, she had undeniable feelings for Richie. But, what about Stan? She knew she liked him, but not how much. He was so strong, independent, and reliable, which she deeply admired. But Richie was an adventure, he would keep her on her toes always.

The Losers decided that they would go get breakfast before heading down to a local carnival that was happening to celebrate whatnot. Stan and Ben were both lesser fans of roller coasters, for their own reasons.
"I don't think we should eat a big breakfast if we're going on rides. It wouldn't be very smart." Stan says, taking a small sip of his morning coffee.
"Staniel, I don't believe you're correct on this one. Let them eat if they want to!" Richie shouts in his British Man voice.
"I agree with Rich." Says Bev with a face full of food.
"W-what about y-y-you, (Y/n)?" Asks Bill.
"I dunno, I think Stan's right here." She mumbles.

Richie felt kind of offended. Offended that (Y/n) had kissed him but sides with Stanley. His dorky grin turned into a slight frown, which he didn't think anyone would notice.
(Y/n) leaned to him and whispered, "You ok?" While bringing her hand to grip his. She squeezes slightly and he repeats this action to show that he's paying attention.
"Yeah. Why?" He asks.
"Just worried." She says, offering a concerned smile.
He returns the smile and squeezes her hand lightly again.

"Ok love birds, let's go. We've got a long ass day ahead." Beverly gestured to Richie and (Y/n), who followed her, hands still interlaced.
"We're not love birds." They said in unison, looking over at each other and laughing.
"I'll believe it when I see it." The red headed girl teased.
"D-ditto." Stuttered Bill.
"Me too." Says Eddie.
"You guys are attached at the hip." Mike says.
"If I can find one, I can find the other." Ben smiled.
"You two really are like a couple." Stan finished.

Both the taller male and smaller female batted off their accusations. They backed away from each other and took their hands off of each other.
"I can see it in the way you guys look at each other. It's like you two are so infatuated with each other that you can't see straight." Ben tells them, with a humble smile. He carries on, "It's kind of the same for Stan and (Y/n), but, they aren't as clingy in public."
Bev squeals, "Love triangle!!"
"W-wouldn't it be m-more of a l-line? Because that w-would mean that R-richie loves (Y/n) and Stan, S-stan loves Richie and (Y/n), and (Y/n) l-loves both. H-however, to my concern at least, that's not how it w-works." Bill mumbled, pondering Bens statement.
"Guys that's ridiculous." Richie says.
"Exactly." Stan agrees.
"Richie's right." (Y/n) backs.

As they get to leaving, (Y/n) feels a tug at the bottom of her dress (if you don't like dresses and it's not your style, just think shirt or something). She looks over to see a boy, who seems to be crying. He couldn't have been any older than four. Her face softens and she kneels down.
"What's wrong?" She asks in a gentle voice.
"I can't find my mom." Cries the little boy with tears streaming down his face.
"It's ok. I'm sure she's around here somewhere. Come here." (Y/n) says, opening her arms so the boy can hold to her. The boy puts his head on her shoulder and looks back at the losers.
"Can you tell me your name?" She asks, keeping a gentle tone.
"Jack." He says, still crying.
"Let's go find her ok?"
"Ok."

Stan watches the girl in awe at how she didn't even hesitate to help Jack. He realized then just how selfless she really is, he'd seen the way she just takes charge and thought it was the most admirable thing ever.

Richie smiled at the sight, thinking about just how gentle and patient she could be. (Y/n), in his eyes, was like the mom of the group. With how she scolded them for fighting to how she comforted them when they were sad, Richie appreciated all of it. Especially since his own mother really wishes he could've been a girl instead.

The (h/c) girl took Jack around the restaurant, "What's your last name, Jack?"
"Barrelli."
"Mrs. Barrelli? Ma'am?" (Y/n) called. No response.
Nobody in the building even looked over. So, they headed outside.
"I have Jack Barrelli here. So if his mother would please collect him, that would be great." She hollered.
A woman with curly blonde hair and pretty green eyes who looked to be in her early 30's came over to (Y/n).
"My baby!" She said, gesturing to Jack, who leaped out of (Y/n)s arms to go with his mother.
"Thank you so much! What a sweetheart! I bet your parents must be so proud of the young woman they raised." She says, setting Jack down.
"Thank you! Your son is so well behaved." The (h/c) girl replies.

She then walks back to her own group with an accomplished smile.
"Sorry for holding you guys up. I couldn't have just left the poor kid." The (h/c) girl mumbles, bringing her hand to the back of her head sheepishly.
"It's an admirable thing you did." The corners of Stan's mouth raise ever so slightly as he looks over at (Y/n).
"For real. That was super nice of you (N/n)." Richie offers a goofy smile and the rest of the Losers nod in silent approval.
"Let's get going now." Bill suggests.

The Losers make a quick trip in the van to the carnival that's going on right by their hotel. It's big, flashy rides all looked like a ton of fun. A majority of the Losers beamed at the sight. The others were filled with fear, instead of joy. But, the games and sunshine made up for the lack thereof. "What do we do first?" Asked Ben, who wasn't the most ecstatic to be going on rides at all. "I want to go on the dropper." Bev smiles.

And they all broke up into groups based on what they wanted to do for the day. (Y/n) got paired with Stan and Richie, which would turn out not as well as hoped. Richie wanted to go on all of the tallest, fastest rides back to back, whereas Stan wanted to play the games first and ride the calmer rides. (Y/n) wasn't opposed to either, but had to get in the middle of a whole days worth of bickering.

"No, Stanley, that's nerdy."
"It is not."
"Yes it is. I'm sure (Y/n) would much rather ride the Paratroopers with me than go see some 3D kids movie."
"What do you say (Y/n?"
"I think we should do both. Heads means Paratroopers first, tails means movie first."

And it went on like this for the rest of the day. (Y/n) had a coin to toss for every dispute, and there were many. By the time the sun was setting, they'd done everything but the Ferris Wheel. (Y/n) had always loved the Ferris Wheel because of the view it had, overlooking the rest of the park that glowed with the setting sun.

"Last ride. Who's with me?" (Y/n) asked.
"Me." Richie smiles, declaring it proudly.
"I'm not a fan of heights. I'll sit this one out." Stan murmurs.
"Suit yourself." Richie says.

Stan hates that he isn't brave enough to just go for it. He wasn't brave enough to ride the last ride, or shoot his shot with (Y/n). He sat on the nearest bench, in a bubble of his own pity. He watched as his friends got raised into the air, sitting opposite of each other in the cart that held them. And he watched as they shared a kiss over the falling sun.

All hope had felt lost in that moment, which took all the bravery he could've possibly mustered to ask her out. As the ride came down, Richie and (Y/n) walked off laughing about something that was presumably stupid.
"Let's go meet up with the other Losers." The (e/c) eyed girl suggests, smiling brightly.

And they do. The trio finds themselves back at the designated meeting spot, with all the other Losers. They all pack their things, chattering lively. As they get in the van, Richie lays his head on (Y/n), falling asleep peacefully.

I'm so sorry to do this to poor Stanley. I promise he has a chance and it's not just bullying. Anywho, I'll have the V Day special out sooner or later.
