Today we get rare POV'sJohnathan's POV
"Do you want me to stay with you?" Edward ask Loreli.
"No!" she says abruptly. She catches herself in how forceful she was, "Sorry, I'm fine, really."
"Jonathan thinks you had a panic attack."
Loreli looks over at me, her eyes are filled with fright of being caught in her act, "I just passed out. I don't remember being scared by anything." she shrugs.
"Perhaps I was wrong." which I'm not. How could the master of fear not be able to tell the difference of a panic attack from a dizzy spell? That's like telling Riddler he doesn't know the difference between a joke and a riddle.
"Okay, well I'm fine. You can go back to work now Edward." Loreli smiles.
"I'm not leaving, what if you need me?"
"Carry's here, she'll take care of me. Now go on and work." she ushers him out her room.
"Uh, but I'd feel better if I stayed. It's not that I don't trust Carry, I just think I should be here."
"Loreli maybe he's rig-" Carry starts but is stopped by a glance from Loreli. One that told her to stay out of the way from the looks of it.
"And I'd feel better if you went home and did your job. Oh, and take Jonathan with you." she says starting to pull me by the arm but I jerk it away and head for the exit.
"Are you sure?" Edward asks stopping next to me.
"Yes, I appreciate the concern. Now give me kiss and then you can leave." They display their affection for each other and then me and Edward are out the door.
I stay quiet till we get downstairs, "She's lying."
"Excuse me?" Edward says confused.
"Edward, you're a smart guy I doubt that you can be this blind. It doesn't take being a former psychologist to figure it out. Didn't you notice how adamant she was for you to leave?" I question. I know she was lying, everything points to it. What she was lying about still remains in question though. Edward stays quiet but I can tell by the worried face that he knows I'm right.
"I wish she'd just tell me what's going on..." He mumbles. We get in the car and drive to his place.
"That shouldn't be a problem, well just ask her friend." I say staring out the window.
"Carry?"
"No Peter Pan... Yes Carry. They're in her house talking about it right now." as soon as I said that the car came to a screeching halt. The cars behind us crashing into each other to avoid us. "What the hell!?"
"The recorder."
Carry's POV
Loreli stands by the window and watches the boys drive off. She wipes her face from the few tears that escape her eyes, "Loreli...? What's going on? Don't tell me nothing because that's obviously bull." I ask worried.
Loreli turns around, her eyes now full of tears, "Carry.... I'm scared." she sobs. "I'm in trouble, and Edward can't know about this alright! You can't tell a soul!!"
"I promise. Just tell me what's wrong!" I plead. Loreli runs a hand through her hair and cries, her breathing picks up and sobs.
"Falcone, he.... he threatened me. Edward isn't on his good side right now....he said that it's because of me! I'm a distraction.... If I don't keep away from him for a while.... One of us is dead..." I go and hug her, she cries on my shoulder, her tears soaking my red jacket. I pat her back for comfort, "And....to make matters worse.... Batman showed up."
"Batman!?" my eyes widen. I look down at my friend in complete worry.
"Carry, he's gonna try and take Edward from me. They're both after me and I don't know what to do!!" she bawls. "What do I do?"
I try thinking of something to say, something comforting or wise. But I have nothing, this is a person who's entire life is being stripped from her. There isn't anything that can make that better, ".... I don't know Loreli."
Edward's POV
We were back at our place and we heard everything they said. "They're dead. No matter what. I'm going to kill Falcone and Batman."
