Edwards POV

I hate this feeling. Confusion. It's something I'm very not used to. I can solve a rubix cube in 30 mins to an hour! I can hack into Wayne Enterprises in a minute! I can answer every riddle known to man!! Yet this woman!!! I can't understand!!!! My frustration must be showing cause Jonathan glances up from his Sleepy Hollow book at me with a look of concern and annoyance, "You okay?" He asks with his soft, somewhat monotone voice. Joker and Harley were out so it's just us.

"Define okay." I groan.

Jonathan sighed, set aside his book, took off his glasses and set them on to of it, "Look, it's been what? 3 days now. I'm sure it's been enough time for her to think and give you an answer so we'll go and talk to her, if you want?" He says getting up from the recliner across from me and my always understanding purple couch.

"No, then I'll just seem pathetic." I whine.

"Your already pathetic. Your entire persona is based around riddles!" I glare at him.

"Gee aren't you nice." I say sarcastically. "I'm too frustrated to go today."

"You mean too afraid." Jonathan smirks. He's right. And I hate that. I am afraid but I think its pretty reasonable. It's the reason that many don't go into relationships... I'm afraid of getting shot down. "So are we going or not?"

Loreli's POV

"Okay just one more aaaand done!" I hit the enter key on my keyboard and turn around to face Carry.

"Finally!! Now we can go out and go crazy!" She laughed while putting an arm around my shoulder. Carry has always been one for a party it was actually pretty rare to find her not excited about something. ((Ps: Carry is African American. Just to let y'all know.))

"Well I'm in!" James budded in poking his head up from the cubical.

"No, you're out!" Carry snapped at him. "You're not invited James. This is a girls night out!" She narrowed her eyes at him. "So unless there is something your not telling us..."

"Fine, I'll leave you guys alone." He sighed sadly then ducked back into his cubical without another word. I look back at Carry and teasingly wink at her, I had told her that her and James would make a cute couple a while back, "Shut up." She loudly whispers, slightly blushing.

Before we could leave we had to make a stop at her house then mine. Carry's place is just down the street so we walk. "So what's going on with you and that Edward guy. I've seen that he still is winning those daily contests but you don't write him anymore." She asks curiously as we wait to cross the busy street. I sigh, I knew this question would come eventually. I just hoped I could avoid it.

"I'm not sure. Like I've told you before it's complicated. He's not exactly what I expected..." I respond.

"Is he a jerk?"

"No."

"Pervert?"

"No."

"He's a democrat! No. Republican! Wait what are you?"

"I could care less about politics so no that's not the problem."

"Then what's the issue?" The sign changes for us to cross.

"It's his job." I say while crossing the street with her.

"What's wrong with it? Doesn't he work at Arkham?" We arrive at the other end of the street. Should I tell her? She is my best friend after all... No he'd find out, I almost forgot about that part. He could be listening right now and I wouldn't even know. If I tell her both our heads could be on a platter.
