Edwards POV

"That was fun." I laugh as we walk over to the couch to wait for the casserole to finish cooking. I suddenly feel a pain in my shoulder, oh yeah i forgot. I hiss at the pain.

"Are you okay?!" Loreli asks with worried honey brown eyes.

"Don't worry about it, this happens all the time. One of the glamorous things to being a criminal." I say the word with disgust, how could I be considered such a thing! I lean into the couch trying to relax as pain surges through my shoulder.

"H-how often?" Loreli asks. "How often does this happen?" Her voice is shaky and brimming with concern... for me?

I turn my head to face her. "Why does it matter?"

"Please, just tell me." She begs. She must really care, but why? She's certainly a riddle in herself. She denies there ever being something between us yet it seems to me that she wants there to be? Or am I just imagining things? I wouldn't be surprised, it's often that people imagine what they want.

"A lot. I'm not really great when it comes to dodging, or any athletic ability." I laughed at myself briefly, trying to lighten the mood but she isn't amused. "Look don't worry about me. I'm fine. I'm used to it. After all I've dealt with pain since I was a kid." I try to get her to let it go but it wasn't till I looked in her eyes that I had realised my mistake.

"What do you mean since you were a kid?" I sigh loudly. I really don't want to get into this.

"Just drop it." I look away from her to the ceiling. The past isn't something I want to go back to. Nothing good awaits me there only.... pain.

"Why? What are you hiding?" She questions. Okay now she's just getting annoying.

"Your one to talk." I grumble still averting my gaze from hers.

"What's that supposed to mean? You know what, don't answer that!" Loreli huffs, she pulls her legs up and holds them close to her on the opposite side of the couch. We sit like that for a while till we hear the timer go off for the casserole. Loreli gets up and takes it out of the oven while I grab the plates, cups and silverware and go to set them on the rarely used dining table. We serve ourselves the casserole and sit in silence for a moment.

"I'm sorry." I look up to see her reaction, she gives me a pleased look like she knew I would've apologized eventually. "Obviously the past isn't something either of us is comfortable with. I have my reasons and you have yours, shouldn't mean that we have to be upset at each other about it." She nods while fiddling with her food.

"I guess I'm sorry too then. I'm just... I'm just worried....about you." She looks at me from across the table, curious of how I'd react.

I smile. "So you do have feelings for me?" Her face flushes red.

"No, I- I um, I just think it's dumb that you put yourself in danger all the time." Loreli huffs, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms.

I chuckle,"Whatever you say, Loreli." I decide to change topics, "So, Thanksgiving was what? A week or two ago? What did you do?"

"Your looking at it." She sighs then takes a bite of casserole.

I frown, "You stayed here by yourself?"

Loreli nods, "Yeah, I do it all the time. Everyone's always so busy around the holidays. Plus no need for that huge turkey that takes like decades to cook! What about you? Do you celebrate Thanksgiving?"
