The smoke filled air rushed around me as I ran through the forest, back to where I came from in L'Manburg. I pause at the clearing, now vacant. I see my book on a stump, with a note on top.

Y/N, I saw you forgot your book here. Left it for you. - Dream

The handwriting is slanted, very very slanted, to the left, but very legible. I slip the note in the book sleeve as I grab it and run.

I find myself scaling a tree that is conveniently right next to the wall, just about as tall. (I just watched an icicle fall from my roof- there goes another) A fall from this height without a water bucket would be lethal, but I'm cool enough to have a water bucket. I make a leap to the wall, and as I'm in the air, I allow my book to sail over the wall.

My hands latch onto the top of the wall, the rest of my body making a thud against it. I hear a quieter thud of the book landing on the ground soon after. I haul my body up with a single, strong heave. I slide over the wall, equipping my water bucket for the fall.

I place the water down with precision, noticing The Arsonist a few feet away. Scooping the water back up, I become the wonderful actress I am.

I place the book open on my chest, lean against the wall, one arm tossed over the book, the other appearing to have slid off. I allow my eyes to delicately close, and slightly part my lips. I hear rapid footsteps and someone shout, "Y/N?! Where are you?" The footsteps come nearer, and the voice that I now recognise as Fundy say softly, "Oh, Y/N," I hear him shuffle nearby and gently shake my shoulder.

"Y/N, time to wake up," he says very quietly to me. I flutter my eyes open, looking at the fox boy. "Fundy?" I say while rubbing my eyes, "what's going on? And why does it smell like fire?"

His face softened, his tone matching his face, "Oh, Y/N," he gently shook his head, "the forest is well, on fire... So I wanted to make sure that you're safe." I reach out and lightly touch his arm, quietly 'aww'ing. "Thank you Fundy," I say warmly, my voice trailing into noises too high pitched to properly hear.

He chuckles, "C'mon Y/N, let's get out of here before it turns into a real threat." I look him dead in the eyes and say, "Fundy, the fire won't get into the walls, and if it does, it will be easily put out. The forest is to far for it to even scorch these walls." "Y-Y/N? How do you know so much about... fire?"

Oh ho, he just opened a can of beans, "That's a story that I don't ever want to tell dear, now why don't we curl up and have you tell me about your day. Nobody will notice we're gone." I look in his eyes, a plea softly showing in my facial expression. "Please?" I softly say.

"Fine, but if we get in trouble it's your fault," Fundy says, peering down at me. He sits against the wall, and I rest my head on his thighs (like he's sitting with all his back against it, it's nothing spicy or anything). His hand gravitates towards my hair, twisting and twirling it through his fingers. He starts, "Well, I sparred with Eret, and of course I beat him, it's obvious I would," his tail thudded against the ground a few times, "Umm, I also helped Wil with part of one of his new songs, I mainly helped with the bridge. It goes 'Mom took away my PS4, I've said it so many times before' and then a bunch more," he rambled and I hummed sometimes, and others I asked questions.

[time skip to just before sundown]

Fundy and I have subsided into a calm, warm silence, me delicately stroking his tail and him toying with my hair. (Haha 690 words) I feel the strong vibrations of footsteps on the ground, and I pick my head up to see over the long grass. "Y/-" I cut Fundy off, "Who's there?" My voice is sharp, like the bark of a guard dog.
