I wake up, my senses coming back to me.

What happened..?

I look around where I am, seeing a glowing outline of a mushroom. So that's what's happened. We used the haexphore trick. Damn me and my fucking knowledge.

I glance back at the room, properly taking it in... this isn't anywhere I'm familiar with. I rub the crust out of my eyes, just as someone knocks on the door.

"Come in," I say, my voice nearly giving out. A familiar scruffy face opens the door, in his classic attire.

"Good morning Y/N," Punz says softly, sitting against the bed. "You don't need to worry about Eret, I already told him you're staying here. Y'know, haexephores do a number, it's like smoking weed but worse," he looks up at me in my morning glory.

I mumble a quiet "okay," and rest my head back down against the bed. "I should probably get you something. Do you mind toast with jelly on it for breakfast?" the blond asks, getting up.

I simply put up a thumb, signalling I don't mind. "Alright, you should probably get changed as well. The smallest things I have are from when Purpled stayed over once, so good luck," Punz grins as the door clicks closed behind him.

I get up and out of the bed, still in yesterday's clothes. I step over to the dresser situated in the corner of the room, and of course it has a mirror on top. I look at myself, nearly immediately regretting it.

How the fuck did he take me seriously when my hair looks like a rats nest?!

I open a few drawers, and find one with a full outfit in it. A simple grey tunic with black pants and a purple sweatshirt. The spare drawer. I take the clothes out, and set them on the bed, checking my pockets.

A mushroom. Of course. Gotta keep it so Purpled doesn't get worried.

I continue on, slipping off my clothes and on the fresh pair. The clothes still fit a little large, but are comfortable. I put the mushroom into the pockets, larger than your regular women's pants pockets.

I run my fingers through my hair in the mirror, detangling the knots. It looks fairly presentable and I open the door, greeted with Punz, who's holding a plate of seasoned mashed potatoes and some dried... seaweed?

Odd.

"Oh, hi. I didn't expect you to be right there," the smith chuckles, smiling. I nod, stepping back, smiling with his energy. (420th word was energy bruh)

He hands me the plate, sitting down on the bed, patting for me to sit beside him, and of course I do. I scoop the food with my fork, shoving it in my mouth, familiar taste of potatoes flooding my tastebuds.

~flashback, Foolish POV~

I lay in bed, feeling unable, broken, useless. I look up at Y/N, who's eating a scoop of my mashed potatoes, the two of us sharing the meal. I reach a hand out, resting it on her knee. She smiles down at me, swallowing the mouthful of food.

She licks the remainders of her lips, then presses a soft kiss to my eyelids, then presses her forehead against my own. I would speak, tell her I love her, if it wasn't for the fact my throat had been torn apart a month ago.

It's great to be a god.

She puts down the mashed potatoes, crawling in the bed beside me, holding me close. I glance down at her, her body feeling like a baby's next to me. I wrap my arms around her, kissing her lips gently.

~end of flashback~

I set down the plate, feeling as though my throat had been ripped out, like his had.

Punz sets a hand on my shoulder, "What? Does it not taste good?" "No, well, it tastes good, I'm just not that hungry." He nods in understanding, finishing off the plate of food himself, humming in surprise at the taste of his own cooking.

Did he not try it before serving it?

I open chat, typing.

You whisper to Eret: I'm gonna be home in 20 at most. Love you

I get nothing back. Glancing at Punz, "I think I'm gonna head home," I say. He puts down the fork, plate along, and guides me through this tower-house thing, to the door.

He hugs me, giving an extra squeeze before releasing me, "See you." The two words are tight, almost as though he's speaking right after choking.

(Choke me like you hate me-)

"See you!" I call out, leaving the threshold and out into the afternoon sun. I walk past the towering bamboo trees, and down the stairs leading to Punz's home.

I walk out of the enclosed area, seeing none other than Sapnap, walking along the path. I quicken rny pace to catch up, eventually falling in step beside him.

I glance up to him, "Hey Sap! How you doing?"

He tips his head down towards me slightly, "Nothing as of late, I'm just walking around, trying to find something to do. I feel like there's nothing around here." A whine weaves into Sapnap's last statement, cute.

(Bro it's a platonic kind of cute you nasty little cock goblins ok— people can call their friends cute without it meaning something)

"Well do you want to hang out with me? We can find something to do, mr arson," I tease, recalling the old memory of the forest, the licking and snapping flames.

"Maybe... maybe." We fall into silence, walking alongside one another, either spaced out or lost in thought.

Hollow steps drag me out of thought, and a devilish plan swiftly forms.

Moving as fast as my muscles can allow, I put both my hands on Sapnap's shoulders and give him a hard shove into the water below. He shrieks, the shrill sound cut off by a splash, signalling his fall. I bolt into the Community House, laughing like a hyena.

I move to the stairs in centre of the building. I bend my legs, on the ready to run from the sopping wet man. I hear a few ferocious kicks from the water, and I take it as my sign to book it from Sapnap, who just let out a ferocious yell.

"You'll never catch me!" I yell over my shoulder, by now it feels like I'm not running, the momentum from each push carrying me forward. The only response I get is the sounds of wet feet behind me. Who knew wet feet sound so weird? Not me, that's for sure.

I quickly approach the walls that I've come to know, but instead of going up to it, I turn right, running along the edge and behind. Eventually, I come to a stop, catching my breath. I hear the wild panting of Sapnap, who comes to a stop beside me, sitting onto the ground in the used-to-be woods.

I walk behind him and sit, leaning on his back with my own. "That was fun," he says, voice raspy from running and most likely getting water up his nose.

"Yeah," the short answer is all the was needed, the two of us sit calmly, happy in our moments of friendship.
