Asahi's POV

It was a peaceful day inside of my home. Nejire-chan was busy with who knows what which left me in peace. I was snuggling up in bed, enjoying my time alone when all of a sudden, Tatsuo jumped straight onto my bed knocking me awake. His face said that if I stay in bed for too long, my muscles will turn into potatoes.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say, Tatsuo." I told him as I jumped out of bed. I yawned as I stretched. The current time was 10:41 A.M. I looked back at where Tatsuo was but he was nowhere to be found. I shrugged my shoulders as I got dressed. When I finished wearing my clothes, my stomach growled. There's only one thing that can help my stomach right now and that's a good bag of Cheese On's. I snuck down the stairs and my parents were nowhere to be found. Perfect. When I entered the kitchen a net came outta nowhere and hung me on the ceiling. My parents and Tatsuo then came out of the refrigerator* snickering.

"What's the big meaning of this?!" I asked them agitated.

"Don't get angry, Asahi. It was little Tatsuo-kun's idea." My mother said to me.

'Don't underestimate the leader of Dōbutsu kumiai! There's a reason why I've been the leader all this while!' Tatsuo laughed at me. I forgot all about his little Animal Union. At least he hasn't sacrificed me into Mt. Raion yet so I'll humor him a bit.

"Asahi, a little cat has been saying someone has been sneaking out for some Cheese On's... " My father said to me, pushing his glasses with two fingers. Tatsuo has been betraying me!? Tatsuo didn't make any eye contact with me. I was being sold out by the very lion cub I gave a home to. Life sure is cruel.

"Since you're silent, I'm inferring that you're guilty... " My father said.

"I... I can't say I didn't but Tatsuo has been taking extra food daily! He's even been hiding a whole bag full of food!!!" Tatsuo had a shocked expression on his face. I'm not a snitch but he forced me no other choice. It's a well-written rule in the book of friendship, 'If thou don't snitch on me, I shan't snitch on them.' Tatsuo was the one that snitched on me first so I just returned the favor. My parents then shift their gaze on Tatsuo. They looked at each other and then proceeded to drag Tatsuo away. I avoided my gaze from them as he was being dragged off into impending doom.

When they were gone I carefully burned the net I was trapped in, got some Cheese On's, and started devouring it. After eating plenty of Cheese On's I went back up towards my room and collapsed onto my bed. I couldn't fall asleep because my body was full of Cheese On's energy. With its power going through my veins, it's almost impossible to fall asleep. Cheese On's is not a snack to eat before bed. Suddenly, my doorbell rang. Doing my duty, I got out of bed to answer the door. Tatsuo was already there as if to claim that he was first but nobody cares.

When I opened the door I was met with a girl of medium height, skin with a light shade of pink, rather square eyes with sclera black and irises bright yellow, with notably long eyelashes below and around the sides. Her face was framed with short hair, fluffy and unruly, which is a pleasant pink color, slightly darker than that of her skin. She had two thin, pale yellow horns protruding from her head, hooked squirrely and leaning diagonally to opposite sides, which looked to be slightly flexible, able to bend a little to each side. It was none other than Mina Ashido.

"Mina-san! What a pleasant surprise!" I said with a jolley smile on my face.

"Hello, Asahi-kun! I just decided to drop by!" Mina said cheerfully. I could feel Tatsuo's glare on the back of my head. The last time a new female came over, he almost ended up sending her to Siberia. I don't want that to happen again. Before Mina-san could see Tatsuo I whispered into her ear, "Listen up, I have a lion cub living here but whatever you do, do not call him cute!" Mina-san nodded her head like it all made sense. After whispering crucial facts about Tatsuo, I let Mina-san inside of my house. She looked around and when she saw the large boxes filled with Cheese On's I thought I could hear her say, 'that figures'.
