Asahi's POV
Before going to my designated area in order to enter the arena, I stopped by a vending machine to buy some Cheese On's. Ah, nothing beats a good ol' snack of Cheese On's (Copyright AsaCorp.) Unlike the last few times I stopped by to get Cheese On's, there was nobody to talk to. They were probably waiting for the match to start anyways. I bit down on the last cheese curl and threw the bag into the trash can with deadly precision.
All the pressure's on me now. Hopefully Yuu-chan is still cheering me on even after I was pretty tense around her. There was a strange quietness whenever I stood there. It was like the whole world was watching which isn't far from the truth. Man, this feeling in my stomach might be what they call being nervous. Now that I think about it, the last time I fought Airi-chan was back when I visited her mansion for the first time. I might've beaten her there but there has been a lot of time for her to have grown. Well, she's not the only one that's grown.
"GET READY FOR THESE TWO TITAINS TO CLASH!!! IN THE BLUE CORNER, WE HAVE THE GIRL THAT CLIMBED HER WAY TO THE TOP, AIRI KATSUMI!!! IN THE RED CORNER, WE HAVE THE WONDER BOY THAT HAS SHOWED HE'S THE CREAM OF THE CROP, ASAHI YUUTO!!!" I walked forwards into the actual stadium. Airi-chan looked at me differently then she did before. She saw me as a rival, not a friend. Even so I said to her, "Hey Airi-chan, let's have some fun." And for a brief moment she smiled back at me and I could hear her mumble, "Yeah, let's have some fun Asahi-kun." Now this is gonna be fun.
"READY!? GO!!" President Mic roared. But, unlike the other matches when they began, neither I or Airi-chan charged at each other. We stood in place waiting for the other one to attack. I wasn't because we were friends but because we both knew that if one of us charged in recklessly that it would be their loss. But since Airi-chan didn't make a move I had to. There's people watching now. I don't want to bore them to death before I make a move.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu" I yelled as I made about five clones of myself. All of my 'Shadow Clones' charged at Airi-chan but she was able to do quick work of them using her karate skills in combination with her invincibility. So charging in recklessly like a Bakugou won't get me anywhere. It's time for Operation Blackout. I secretly made a clone underground and rushed at Airi-chan.
"Ara Ara, you're rushing at me with no plan in mind, Asahi-kun?" Airi-chan asked me.
"Sometimes it's better to use your fists than your brain." In close combat, I'm gonna be no good without my quirks against Airi-chan thanks to her black belt in Taekwondo but, with my stolen- I mean borrowed quirks I might stand a chance. I started throwing flame-powered punches at Airi-chan. Airi-chan changed her form and blocked my punches in a way where she wouldn't even get singed while successfully launching her own attacks.
"Remember what I said when I had a black belt in Taekwondo?" Airi-chan asked me while casually blocking my moves.
"Yeah, what about it?"
"That was the half truth. I'm a black belt in Taekwondo and Karate." She revealed to me.
"That's not gonna change anything, you know. One way or another, you're going down Airi-chan."
"Such arrogance. What did I tell you last time about being arrogant?"
"Like I said before, it's not arrogance, it's confidence."
"Ara Ara, I wonder if there's anything to back your words."
"You'll see real soon, Airi-chan." I rolled backwards and shot a heat wave at Airi-chan with my left hand. Before I did I felt a slight pain on my left hand, resulting in my wave of fire to be slightly less concentrated. It's because of her quirk. I'll have to keep that into account. Using the slight opening, Airi-chan gracefully dodged my attack. I can't transform into Rayquaza on her yet or I'll risk running out of energy and losing.
